Long time lurker - first time poster - been Adam fan since his audition. All signs appear to indicate he will be a judge or involved in some way. Besides the interviews etc. he just looks SO HAPPY!!!! I am hoping for Idol judge, Queen Tour and Tresspassing Tour. Love this site!  |

I agree! No artist would hold their calender hostage for six weeks for a "consideration";! After seeing the dates lining up in October and November, it makes the six dead weeks even more suspicious. IF Adam is not in, then he has something big going on in September/October that he has been keeping a secret. The man hasn't had more than a few days off since before Christmas. I find it illogical to believe that he all of a sudden has a six week time period with nothing scheduled!

Most of you know that I've never been on the "Adam MUST get on the Idol judge panel" wagon, and am still not! IF he gets it, then awesome! No one can deny the Idol exposure and what potentially could do for an artist, and absolutely the icing on the cake for me. Even though I don't watch much TV at all, I'll admit now, shamelessly, that I'd make time to sit in front of my big screen to stare at his gorgeousness twice a week (or, at least TiVo it).
Either way, the man's got "various, different things in the works" and the stuff he can't divulge to his fans at the moment ain't just the title of his "new uber secret" single! Well, they might keep a schedule clear if Adam was deep in talks and his management was asked to do so. This could also explain the single announcement/release delay and the issue of logistics---no way will they release a single without some kind of promo lined up. It might be that his management is now looking to fill the September schedule with promo opportunities for the single. Just putting this out there. People seem SO certain that this is a done deal. And I really hope it is. But I'm still not sure. In any event, they are obviously not just "throwing" the single out there without support, so that makes me really happy. |

Adam's management team and record label aren't going to put a hold on six weeks for a "just in case" situation. They MIGHT have gone ahead and booked a light schedule with mostly weekend events, knowing that they could cancel a few things during the weekdays, but no way do they block out six weeks for a "possibility"! Adam has something during those weeks, it may or may not be Idol, but it is SOMETHING!  |

Call Me Maybe also makes me cringe and for the life of me, I don't understand why it is so popular. Had the same feeling about Hey, Soul Sister and to a lesser degree Payphone, that John Mayer song, and A Thousand Years. I know some people think Runnin' would not make a good single, but I put it in the same category as as Goyte's Somebody That I Used to Love and Fun's We are Young. Not that I am particularly fans of those two songs, but they were so different (kinda hard to peg what genre) that they made people take notice. I think I've only heard of one person who didn't like Runnin'. I totally get that it does not fit into regular pop, but why can such a song not be released to rock stations? I know they are dwindeling in this country, but perhaps that is also because they are not fed with interesting new rock songs (like Runnin). If they try to live off of a Nickelback diet flavored with some classic rock, perhaps that is why they are a dying breed. Said the same thing about CLYG, which in my mind has the same history, it's a bonus track, not released everywhere, never made it into the ears of anyone who did not buy the deluxe album and the right one at that. I don't understand release strategies. I don't understand release strategies. I don't understand release strategies. Even without major promotion, rock stations could have used the Queen story as a segway to play the song, and it would sound great played right next to classic rock music. But, what do I know about such things....clearly nothing. Runnin' is a bonus track, it is not destined to be a single. So any discussion of it as a single is hypothetical. Even if it was a single, there is no radio format for this song. |

I'm with ya that they might keep his schedule clear to a degree, but IMO, they totally superseded their bandwith on the "just in case" thing. I know it's a good gig, but seriously, I don't think Adam would keep himself completely at bay at a crucial point in his career to be led around by the nose. Good gig or not, no artist can afford to do that, especially he isn't being mentioned first and foremost with these articles.
