8.25.12 Aussie Promo winds down-Idol talk heats up

The lights dimmed.... the band came on stage (Ashley was directly in front of me)..... and then......

There HE was! :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub:

He was stunning. He was glowing. He was emanating 'presence'.

The crowd erupted! And away he went. He was glorious, full of playfulness and cheeky banter and he looked so goddamn HAPPY!

You've all seen the vids by now, so I don't need to go into a song by song re-cap, but OMFG hearing and seeing him so close in that setting is something I will never ever forget. It almost brings me to tears remembering it. There was so much EPIC going on and lots of huggles with my NZGT mates. I might add that Adam's Aussie accent was absolutely appalling and if anything he sounded like a Brit. It really had everyone laughing, because it was soooo.... bad. He was so cheeky and campy and goofy and, and, and..... gah!

Now, there were a few AFL virgins there that night and were getting their cherries popped in style. My future bed partner @equestribert - lol - was one of them. I turned round to watch her face often and she was transfixed BUT when he sang WWFM, I turned around and her face was crumpled up with so much emotion and the tears were just cascading down her face unchecked. I just held her tight and cuddled this woman I had met for the first time that morning. It was very, very touching and high lights what is so special about Adam and his fans.

Now, Trudy was in front of me. Oooops, I just realised in previous post I called her AJ. Nope it's Trudy for the record. AJ was over in the centre #mybad So Trudy was also really, really emotional. Her face was lit up like a Christmas tree with love. I was leaning over her shoulder, with my head next to hers when she threw the yellow and black striped leg warmer onto the stage for Adam. When he picked it up and put it on his arm I thought she was going to faint. More huggles and squees all round ensued. Vecadam, my partner in Queenbert crime, was behind @equestribert and every time I turned to look at her, she was rocking out hard with the hugest smile on her face evah.

Two of the NZGT got to ask questions at the Q&A, so we were well represented all round really and then Trudy caught the lady's eye who was interviewing Adam and managed to get some NZGT gifts on stage to Adam. There were two books. An AH-mazing scrapbook made by Trudy and one from the NZGT with messages of love from all those that attended our 'Failure to Launch Trespassing' party back in March. Both gifts were very personal and important to his Kiwi fans, so to know that they had reached Adam was special.

When he started 'Is This Love' I thought there was going to be a collective audience meltdown. Seriously! We all just stood there with our mouths open whilst it sunk in that we were hearing a ~new song come out of the mouth of AFL :Clap:

And then.... as always.... it goes too fast and it's over I was somewhat surprised he didn't do an encore, but hey, we were all just so happy to have been there at all and got what we did. It will be forever wonderful. Trudy realised that our books were still on the stage, so got the attention of somebody and begged to have them taken back to Adam, pointing out that they had officially been accepted on stage by him

So, the obligatory standing around with dazed stunned mullet faces ensued. Mouths opened and shut silently whilst we all came to terms with what we had just witnessed and then slowly everyone starts to re inhabit their bodies and the conversations start going at a million miles an hour. The venue emptied slowly and we all spilled out on to the street going OMG'ding everywhere.

More TV interviews took place and the NZGT got their fair share of 'face' time.....hahaha

Then everyone started wondering which door they would leave from. Security guard told someone that there was only the one door, so everybody stayed out the front. At some point Ashley came out and said she was lost...lol She was immediately surrounded and was very gracious and patient whilst answering questions and taking photos with the fans.

Meanwhile one of us got a tweet to say that Adam's black van was parked round the back outside a fire exit. So we ran sauntered around the corner and joined a smallish group of fans that were already there. The crowd got a bit bigger and eventually we were rewarded when first the whole band filed out and climbed into the van and then came Adam. Lol... you could see his hair coming in advance. Two Kiwi fans were right at the door and he spoke to them briefly, but the bestest bit was that he had our NZGT pressies in his hands.

We all swooned with happiness :2tears:

Then he was gone....

And then the par-tay got underway 8-)
