These are worldwide sales for 2012, not for the amount of time the album has been out. That's why Kelly Clarkson only has around 835K, her Christmas sales aren't included in that total. This chart isn't including the numbers from 2011, when some of these albums came out. Yes but the year 2012 starts in January...Adam's album came out in May. His album in other words is pretty new. That is my meaning and I'm sticking to it.I like to see the positive side.. That's just me. True! It is so easy to forget that the album has only been out for a little over 4 months.

His album in other words is pretty new so I think he's doing really OK You are correct, this chart is comparing albums sales for different lenghts of time, from 1 week to 8 months. TSP falls right in the middle. The best way to have an idea of how TSP is doing comparatively is to look at how many copies the albums are selling every month. Some of these albums are selling 50-100K+ a month. At 10K a month, TSP will stay pretty much around the same position. Most of these albums at the bottom of this list will drop off in the upcoming weeks, as all the Christmas time releases start to come out. Even so, at least it is on the chart for a while! What were the last numbers we had for weekly numbers in the US? This chart is supposedly 80% of the actual total. IF that is correct, then it means what we have thought all along is correct- that 50% of Adam's album sales come from outside of the US. stardust: What is the last weekly number we have?

New to this part of the forum, but gonna dip a toe in the scary waters. I was lurking around the internet and found this site mentioned. Have no idea if there's any merit to it, but one of the posters, Sonia, seems to have some non-official estimates concerning international sales. (scroll down) OK, I'm outta here. www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=91518&start=50
This poster, Sonia, copied the sales info from here: www.chartsinfrance.net/communaute/index.php?/topic/41870-top-monde-2012-maj-page-10-estimations-mediatraffic/page__st__135. She updates/copies them whenever the source updates the chart.
"chartsinfrance.net" is pretty much the same thing as "www.mediatraffic.de" (aka United World Chart). They were founded by music & charts enthusiasts to track albums/singles sales (roughly) based on known official data like Billboard, etc., but once the albums leave the official charts they're making an "educated" estimate on the sales. There're many debates in their forum about just how accurate those estimates are, but, nonetheless these numbers undoubtedly give us a general idea where things are at.
Well, Modonna certainly got a huge boost in the album sales from her world tour, and like her last album, most of the sales are from outside the US. I'm hopeful about Trespassing, with the world tour next year and especially, if the new single takes off!

maddie: I saw this chart a while back, but knew that it was based on estimates and various numbers that could not be entirely accurate. I don't know how close to the real numbers these estimates are, but the same charts and information is probably used to determine everyone's totals, so the chart position could be fairly accurate. Who knows? The numbers do seem to suggest that 50% of TSP's total comes from outside the US. Like you said, that is a HUGE plus for Adam and numbers that can be built onto with more overseas promotion and touring!

No one but labels would have the "real" numbers, this is probably the best unofficial figures that we can get and I'm taking it!
Honestly though, without a hit single and decent airplay (yes, the first 2 singles did have better days in some regions unfortunately, they're small markets when it comes to albums sales.), and a screwy promo to cap it off, it could have been much worse! If you look at Train's number for California 37 which released on April 17 --- 465,000, and behind that it's a huge single, "Drive By" --- a top 10 hit in the US and 13 other countries, over 2mil copies sold alone in the US by July. Another example, Wild Ones by Flo Rida, released in July, 346,000 copies sold and the driving force behind it are 3 huge singles --- all charted in top 5 on BB 100.
Looks like RCA is definitely gearing up for more int'l action, which is totally awesome and brilliant, but I'd really like to see some serious domestic push as well...

I'd like to see something promo-wise set for the US. Anything at this point. I am seriously happy for the New Zealand fans, they've earned it. But why does it feel like Adam is headed out of town right as his single is released---again.
