Got a text from B104 that they played Trespassing last night at 11:40pm. Just saw the text this morning LOL.
OT - Mods delete if inappropriate. Does anyone have any info on how CU is doing in the UK? This isn't really OT as both she & Adam were being promoted at the same time and iirc Radio 1 actually played her single and she was on several high-profile TV shows. Did it work any better for her than for Adam? Anyone know?

I thought her single never made it to Radio 1, but it ended up doing much better on Radio 2 when compared to NCOE. Carrie really isn't much of a crossover artist, and the UK doesn't seem to care much for country music.

Thanks. I stopped paying attention to UK radio when it became apparent TSP wasn't going anywhere.

I agreed with tigerlily that Carrie probably has sold a little more than Adam, so far.
Blown Away debuted at #11 on UK Top 40 Albums Chart, slid down to #38 the 2nd week; Trespassing debuted at #16, off the Top 40 chart the 2nd week down to #81, then off the Top 100 chart the 3rd week, whereas, Blown Away stayed on the Top 100 for one more week. (disclaimer: I did not check the chart to see if either album made re-entry on the Top 40, which I highly doubted it.)
Adam's single, NCOE, made it to the Singles Chart at #17 debut week, then #50 the 2nd week and stayed on the itunes top 200 for quite a while, thanks to the fans largely. Despite being picked up by Radio 2, with a much much higher AI impression than NCOE, Good Girl never made it to the singles chart or decent showing on the iTunes, then this is UK country music is really not their thing, mostly.
Carrie had an awesome promo in the UK, the only thing she didn't do was singing with Queen (LOL...now picture that!) I said this before that the significance & impact of Adam singing with Queen CAN NOT/SHOULD NOT be measured by sales numbers, but, I couldn't help wondering while exposing Adam to a segment of new fans, it might also confuse some of them, 'cuz his own music is vastly different from Queen's, so it's like "I like the voice, the artist but not sure about his own music".

Maddie: Carrie's album had sold close to 10,000 copies sometime in June. I don't know how much it has sold in the last three months. How many copies of TSP have been sold in the UK? IDK? ETA: Found it!UK sales #s for Adam Trespassing (#16 on album chart) 7,107 NCOE (#17 on singles chart) 16,060 www.musicweek.com/story... *The link no longer works, but that's where the information for the final numbers originally came from.

Ya know something? (you probably do! ) We're spoiled rotten "number geeks" by our own music industry, 'cuz even when the album is no longer on the chart we can always count on "Idol Chatter" (USA TODAY), unless it's not worth mentioning at all. Boy! I've crawled thru the net and found nothing about Carrie's UK album sales except the debut week number --- 9595 copies. She was still on the Top 40 Chart at #38 the 2nd week but still NOTHING!
The search for Adam's numbers was even more dismayed, the only concrete numbers that we'd ever gotten was from a tweet posted by an insider, a host or producer (don't remember exactly) from UK ChartShowTV, named Leyton Bracegirdle. Here are the original tweets:
Leyton Bracegirdle @leytonb Yay! At last! Some UK love for @adamlambert - #Trespassing No. 3 on the official midweek album charts & NCOE No. 12 on the single midweeks!
Leyton Bracegirdle @leytonb @ukglambert lol I don't understand but 7080 copies sold of NCOE, 3869 sold of Trespassing so far.... (@ukglambert explained that "lol I don't understand" was a response to something else she asked of him.)
When that tweet came out, the album was only on the market for one day but the sales did slow down, 'cuz Trespassing did not show up on the official BBC mid-week report at #3 but #7, then debuted at #16 on the final official weekly chart. Carrie sold 9595 copies and debuted at #11, if I had to guess, I would say Adam probably sold under 8500 for his debut week. Carrie did release her album 1 month earlier than Adam, though, other than that, they both appear to be pretty much on the same playing field ever since sliding off the chart.
ETA: tigerlily, good ninja work! 7107, huh? Guess the sales slowed down a lot more than I thought throughout the week...

Since it has been very quiet, I have bumped this thread out to the end of the month. When Adam announces the single and things pick up, I go back to weekly threads.

The Trespassing Deluxe album is #19 on Amazon's Movers and Shakers list, up 114% from #608 to #283 on the Best Sellers list. I'm assuming it's because of the video contest.
