Does anyone think AI might be waiting until after the Dem's convention to make the official judges announcement? I read somewhere that they might do that to get more attention for the story. I guess that makes sense, but I don't think FOX would want the Idol judge announcement to be next week either. The X-Factor premieres on 9/12-13, and I think FOX would want all of the media attention on that show next week. So, that could mean an Idol judge announcement the week of 9/17 -- still 2 weeks away. Ugh.

ETA: I think they might announce Idol judges on or around 9/12/12 and tie it to the X-Factor premiere. Yeah, they did push WWFM to CHR first. And, I agree iihy too, I think. Adam has never (to my knowledge) made the jump from hac to chr successfully. btikm was the first time they tried it, and it didn't work. I guess this add was from an Adam supporting station about to host a concert, so it makes sense. There is only one Adam single that was not pushed to HAC -- NCOE. I just do not want them to repeat that. All the others were pushed to CHR/Pop and HAC. December 21, 2009 -- WWFM Adam Lambert: “Whataya Want From Me”: ^36 Pop (44), ^44 HAC (45) And the one they pushed only to CHR..... June 16, 2012 -- NCOE Adam Lambert: “Never Close Our Eyes”: ^36 HAC (37) There was one song that they released to Pop first then HAC -- IIHY -- and that was because WWFM was still so high on the HAC and AC charts. July 12, 2012 Adam Lambert: “If I Had You”: ^32 Pop (37) “Whattaya Want From Me”: 5 HAC (3), 8 AC (9) Just MHO, I think they should have pushed IIHY to HAC earlier and it would have been a BB Top 20 hit.

Been in the car most of the day and had Queen/Lambert Hammersmith Apollo 2 blasting -- still get such a charge out of hearing it. Had put it away for awhile so everything sounded fresh. I was happily remembering the stream from Kiev when we all thought it may just be another spotty download and then, OMG, it was EXCELLENT!! I sat here just melting in front of my monitor -- could.not.believe. it!!
I'm over Idol -- when we hear, we hear (she says not really meaning it). I wonder exactly what Raja's tweet was all about....

I hope you're right, but would FOX really want to dilute the focus on X-Factor, especially since it didn't live up expectations re: the ratings last year? I would think they would want all the hype and hoopla focused next week on X-F, not shared with Idol. And Simon Cowell would probably have a cow. ;D

Seems to me the pattern has been to push Adam first to CHR and then, after some success there, to push to HAC. All his songs that "worked" moved this way.
I don't think you can even look at NCOE---it was following a HAC song that struggled and basically, for whatever reason, it was DOA at radio stations.

:-/ The industry ad for NCOE featured HAC stations. It had way more HAC adds than CHR. I would say RCA didn't push either BITKM or NCOE to CHR. Even the bulk of the stations he visited last Spring were HAC stations. True, it had no HAC ad date, but IDK if that even meant anything. His radio shows in May were all HAC stations, I think.

I don't see how even doing it the week of the 17th would work. Unless FOX thinks IDOL news will help XF? IDK ???

Even the bulk of the stations he visited last Spring were HAC stations. Yeah, I think it was pretty clear early on that NCOE wasn't going to happen. And as a result, RCA didn't give it much push; not even to Adam-friendly VH1.
