Was listening to the radio today and they were giving away tickets to an intimate invitation only performance of KD Lang who is here in Oz for a promo tour. Which got me thinking how much I would love to hear a duet between her and Adam. Their voices would be amazing together.
Adam often talks about wanting to duet with Christina (who has that shouty diva thing I hate) and while that duet and duets with other current popsters would have commercial appeal who would you most like to see Adam duet with... all constraints aside (well I guess would help if they were alive but even that isn't a total barrier aka Elvis and Lisa Marie).
Over to you all - my starting salvo is Adam and KD Lang.

Yesterday, RL was a killer and it took me forever to catch up on the thread... Just wanted to send a big hug to sugaree... OMG girl, you had one hell of a day yesterday. And catzmadam, like sugaree, you have such an indomitable spirit. Both of you are so inspiring and have such fighting spirits. I salute you, and stand in awe!!

Over to you all - my starting salvo is Adam and KD Lang. In pursuit of a 'moment' (and I mention this b/c I watched AI for first time tonight and thought they were all stunningly mediocre, at best - yep all of 'em. Iovine looks like he's ready to stick a fork in his own eye.) I would like to see duets with near contemporaries who aren't 'divas' or flavors of the month. And for personal choices, excluding anyone old enough to be his (older)parent/grandparent. I'd like to see him with someone who has that same ability to work a song and the stage with same easy confidence & comfortable sensuality - Joss Stone (yes), Nikka Costa, (soberish) Amy Winehouse, maybe Hayley Williams (great voice, haven't seen her live), maybe even Shirley Manson. Adam can usually tailor to fit so maybe even Natalie Maines - I'm not a big country fan but love her phrasing and 'musicality'. Men as duet partners has potential to be even more interesting but that would take more brain cells than I've got at the moment - I love Chris Cornell, but I've heard Chris do some bad live duets so I don't know. Justin Timberlake just to see two master stage masters together. I'd like to hear how that Jake Shears night went:) Brandon Flowers (Killers) definitely - they could have interesting energy. Jack White would be great. (Again trying to think young - veering away from AARP rock.) ************ Sep topic: Looking for something else, I found a 30 Seconds to Mars cover of "Bad Romance." Now I'm a moderate fan because I like some of the music but Jared Leto (crush of my youth) often likes to scream as his mode of expression & that's not usually my thing. And this cover is NOT pretty but I found it oddly compelling after a couple of full plays and added it to my playlist for the week. Will try to drop it in music recs to share the hmmm.

I want to second this and I intended to repost the pic from yesterday, so I will. Catzmadam, can you do a Zoom on this one. Look how mesed up it is. This is definiely "post makeout" hair! Here ya go mys*&@^#r Sorry I took so long, but got sidetracked by the lovely Nica on a Skype chat This is WAY, WAY overlightened, but the only way I could get the 'do' to stand out - not that it needs my help. I'm kind of fascinated by all that beautiful wavy hair, even if it did look kinda dorky. Imma just gonna sit and lOOk at it for a while.

Jack White would be great. (Again trying to think young - veering away from AARP rock.) Well if you're going to be all analytical and like on things (LOL) The clarity of Adam's vocals make a match up challenging because a lot of the more "indie" voices are interesting but not necessarily true enough to match up to Adam, and while we know he could work with anyone wouldn't want him singing down to a different level to make something work... Much requested and talked about I would also like a duet with David Bowie, he's endlessly cool and has done some really interesting edgy collaborations in recent years. It would of course bring back the Freddie comparisons, but the buzz would be enormous and the reflected cred likewise - also think they would mesh together pretty well vocally. Would depend on the song of course. The guaranteed path to hitsville is to do an R&B or rap collaboration, but I am just not up enough with that side of things to even suggest who he could work with. (Just please not Kanye - then again would equal huge buzz).
