I'm going to bury this in here--because I really do understand that it is OT for this board and I respect ppl with different beliefs. I'm living in a place where we don't discuss politics because of potential animosity--and I really value my family and friendships and don't want to sacrifice that because of different ideologies. But growing up as the black sheep in a county of white sheep, I will champion anyone who feels marginalized and drowned out by those who have the power and money to buy the loudest voices. Cheers to inclusivity. And cheers to the marvelous and incredibly diverse people who rallied, from nuns to autoworkers to working moms, for championing everyone no matter whom they choose to love. I'm so happy it is it being embraced not as a political maneuver but as the deeply held conviction of so many who once stood idly by as their patriotism was questioned. I feel as though it is finally being shouted from the rooftops. And Rhiannsu, it's a Beautiful Day! This is NOT OT, everyone, but I understand why it shouldn't be on current Daily Thread. A little *squee* for all those who said you will not be disenfranchised "because of whom you choose to love" from several ppl the last several nights. hip hip ... Oh, and Lololol on the Hoover, MWP! That is one of the funniest posts I've ever seen (and that is really saying something on this board!

junkets, your post may be buried here in an old thread, but I found it and I applaud you. Many of the speakers at the DNC mentioned the importance of not discriminating against people "for who you love"; we did not hear that from the other side. Quite the opposite. That's relevant to the man we love and talk about on this board.

I too support all platforms presented although I voiced the opinion that our daily thread was not the place to discuss politics. Disenfranchised? Less patriotic? Sorry, don't get that message from those of us that asked that we not discuss politics. Personally, I am surrounded by the election and the "politics" daily -- ALOT -- Adamtopia is my refuge from all that. More then happy to discuss the issues, just not the candidates and platforms. JMO.
