Adam wanted this job. The main reason I wanted it for him was as a means to get him back into the public awareness. Now how in the hell is that gonna happen? Little one-offs here and there ain't gonna do it. Likely no Grammy nom this year either. And radio play is iffy. Anyone - feel free to pull me back off this cliff. Or push me over. :-/ ETA- really appreciating Michael Slezak's tweet right now.

Slezak keeps adding stuff to his article. tvline.com/2012/09/11/randy-jackson-american-idol-judge-season-12/1st he added this paragraph: Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, Enrique Iglesias, and Adam Lambert have all been discussed as potential players on a three- or four-person Idol panel, although several media outlets have reported Minaj and Urban are the most likely to ink their deals.
And now he's added a poll. Ha, ha! The comments there are hysterical

This is a silly TV singing contest. j/s They don't need four judges anyhow. The AI judges been reading producer's notes and going with what the producers want for years. Remember, it's about the advertising dollar and nothing more. I haven't seen consistently "fair judges" on any of the three singing/reality shows, so Randy and Mariah being in a business relationship isn't going to matter. This "silly singing contest" is a hundred million dollar business that could support entire economies if it wanted to. Businesses with that kind of growth and profitability do NOT happen by accident and when they fall apart a lot of people lose their livelihoods and the economy loses a huge source of revenue. It's probably more successful than 99% of businesses that keep our economy afloat and have tremendous influence over consumers, pop culture and the general public. I don't ask them to behave anymore responsibly than I expect any company I do business with to behave. Basic ethics are a part of doing business and yes, there are unscrupulous sharks who will take advantage of their customers for sleazy capital gain, but we have a right to call those companies out and their public image SHOULD suffer on account of it. It happens every day and trust is a HUGE component of brand identity and when they lose it, it's often disastrous for the company. (Check into crisis PR to find out how much companies are willing to spend to repair a damaged reputation.) Yeah, I know. It's a business, but it is entertainment first and foremost. There is nothing "fair" about it. If Idol was fair, they wouldn't allow the AT&T monopoly. If it was fair, they would change the voting system. If it was fair, everyone would get a chance at the pimp spot and equal face time during the pre-voting rounds. AI hasn't been "fair" since day one. The judges don't have to be 100% accurate or correct, they just have to be there to keep this million dollar show moving along. This is the show that let Paula show up and judge while being on drugs. They don't care who wins, just so it all makes good TV and they can keep the ratings up.

[/IMG]
I tend to think its not up to Randy. I think its the advertisers and their wishes. Makes me sad and again, hope i am wrong. On a brighter note: trying very hard to not go to the Lincoln Center.. i am only 5 mins walk away but i feel weired to go just in the hope of spotting BB. The day is spectacular, mild, warm, sunny and bright. NYC is treating him well
Go take the walk Adam is always happy to meet fans.

IDK why we are believing a source that had Enrique all but signed on Friday? A source that goes back and changes their wording so they don't look like they were wrong once already! All the other articles seem to be coming from that one Detailed "leak." Until Idol/FOX announces it themselves, I am going with that this is their way of letting Randy save face. He will decide to not take the judging posiiton, due to Mariah being on the panel. He will then become a mentor, perhaps like the critiques that Jimmy gave on results' night last year. I may be (or definitely) am nuts but I still think Adam has this. Nothing has happened today to make me change my mind. ;D

The Hot Hits live from LA (for Australia?)
Milla Jovovich tells us why filming the final scene of Resident Evil: Retribution wasn't fun, we find out which celeb loses it over the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart break up and Adam Lambert realises that being famous isn't as cool as he thought!
Adam at the beginning with NCOE in the background, actual segment at 1'55.
