Thanks Q ~ Does Grammy nomination depend on radio play? I would not think so, because there are so many categories of music that receive nominations. We know that Trespassing was critically acclaimed and got stellar reviews from most critics, so hopefully the Grammy committees will listen to this music, and not pay attention to the fact that it didn't get a lot of radio play, What do you think, Q?eta: I would love it if Adam got several Grammy noms (which I think would be well deserved) and radio had to sh*t all over themselves to play catch up. Please excuse the vulgarity, but what other phrase is more appropriate? Sorry way late in answering and hope you see this..... I hope Adam gets the two important nominations for Pop artists... Best Pop Solo Performance Best Pop Vocal Album This category is Pop as in Popular -- so yes, commercial success matters -- sales and/or airplay and/or online streaming media. I don't know about yall, but I am getting really tired of all the reality TV. It seems that because a few shows have done well (AI being one of them) that the networks think that is the way to go. In my view, it is beyond the saturation point by now. AI was one of the first reality shows, and it was the best, because it brought us Adam Fucking Lambert. Prime time TV is a desert. There was not a single well written sharp interesting program on tonight - only reality shows. Saturation? More like drowning! Feeling sorry for fine writers and actors. TV is now a wasteland. |

Dallas 102.9 NOW has played One Republic twice, Linkin Park twice, and Maroon 5 twice, Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson twice since I have been listening. I wonder if they will play another Adam song?
I hope so!
Does anyone know what the difference is between their online program and what they play on the air?
eta: did anyone that was listening remember to click the thumbs up for Trespassing? I didn't, bad fan!

Even with 3 big singles, Kelly has yet to go platinum. Ideally, the Grammy is not supposed to reward sales. Album sales are in the cellar for almost everyone but a few artists & I think those in the industry realize that. Trespassing, IMO, has just as good a chance as any other excellent album out there. I am not saying it will, but I just can't live my life with doom and gloom all the time. :-/ I totally get what you're saying. But, Kelly's album is doing amazing. All Trespassing really needed was decent sales. It didn't have to go platinum. But it probably needed to sell more than 150K. I don't like doom and gloom either. Maybe Trespassing will catch on at radio and the album will have a second life. Kelly's album is the #10 top-selling album released since October 1, 2011 (when Grammy eligibility period started). Stronger is at 920K, it will get to platinum. The Grammys are not supposed to reward sales, but they have done that in the Pop album category over the past three years. They could decide to nominate an album which isn't even in the Top 100 albums, sales wise (since last October), but is a very long shot. You never know, the historical significance of TSP could override the general rule they have followed in the past three years. |

I think that's one of his managers from DMG. I think his name is Josh...not 100% positive on the name...but he was also in Japan with Adam. |

The #10 album, which will have been out for a year next month, has sold 920K.
Album sales are not doing great across the board. I really think the industry people know this & will not use sales for a Grammy nom. Singles are different, but for album, no!
