If I recall right, this tweet turned out to be based on a rumor, at the time (May 2012). But FYE is in the 900K range in sales, so it could be sent to RIAA for registration for Platinum level certification, if RCA would decide to do so. As best I know, RCA has so far not taken this step or at least not announced that they did. That is up to the artist, not the label. So Adam (or his management on his behalf) can request it. I do not think sales are high enough yet to equate to 1 million shipped (wholesale sales). ** JMHO YMMV --- I honestly think that "Stronger" would have been a #1 song for Kelly with or without any reality TV presence. It is a killer song. Similarly, "Moves Like Jagger" is a killer song and would have be a #1 song with or without The Voice. There are other songs like this -- "Dynamite" for example is a #1 song.

Q3-I agree with that, but I think that TV visibility put her in viewers faces so they checked out her music more - requested more and that surely helped reach the radio highs as well. Add the Reba machine to the mix too. I think it's all just a big circle. One thing feeds another. A lot of puzzle pieces come together to make for successful projects in the music world. My thoughts as a layman anyway. 8-) Kelly's Stronger was the perfect Pop single. Her album is a good album. I am surprised it took this long to go platinum. It will be a year next month. ETA: Ha, ha! Q3, we posted about Stronger at the same time!

The platinum-certified statement comes from Adam's updated RCA bio: www.rcamusicgrouppress.com/index.php?artist=Adam_Lambert#Biography "In 2009, Lambert released his debut album, the Platinum-certified For Your Entertainment, scored the smash single “Whataya Want From Me,” and set out on his 2010 Glam Nation World Tour, taking his electrifying show to thousands of fans across the globe who screamed his name and happily sang along with every word of his genre-bending electro-pop-rock songs."
The link does not work for me now.

The link does not work for me now. Yes, that is what caused it. But the album has still not been certified platinum in the US. There was some speculation at the time that if was an error at RCA OR someone was being too clever and referring to some other Platinum certification like AU, CA, NZ. The release did not say RIAA Certified.

SUPER I got my call in for TP. I hope he wins. WSTW was having a contest 3 songs tonight..whatever song had the most calls, moves on.
Usually they request votes by FB, but tonight they wanted calls. Let's see if it makes it onto tomorrow night...
what we don't do to get this song played. I wish RCA would support TP like other artists seems to get the song played..

If everyone in his core fan base bought a few more copies, we could get him to platinum. I feel he'll never really get the respect he deserves until one of his albums go platinum.
