That cut off precisely where I would have loved for him to continue. He says that to be really helpful in your feedback to a singer you have to understand technically what they are doing. That's the meat of what Adam could contribute better than most any singer in pop music today. His understanding of the techniques of singing. I would kill to have heard him elaborate on that. Rats!

I guess Adam called in so late ,that the station ran out of time. Why would Idol care if their judges knew about technique... all they need to know is how to sell themselves and products. such a travesty.

I know we, as fans, are kind of biased when it comes to Adam... But I honestly think that he would have been the greatest judge ever. I really think that's an objective observation. He was a great mentor, and he would have been a great judge. Idol fucked up by not hiring him.

THAT'S the guy with no filter????? Yeah, right. In other interviews Adam has said that when he was in sixth grade, twelve years old, he first discovered that he was interested in boys, not girls. And he had NO friends, and dreaded lunch hour because he had no one to sit with. Now, on this fluff program, he chooses to talk about what he wore and his hair, and says if he could go back to that time he would just watch his younger self in the theater group. Not saying he is lying. He is just choosing the memories that fit the show. Smooth, Adam! I'm pretty sure lot of things going on when he was 12. So, do you think Adam needed to tell these 12yo kids that when he was 12 he found out about his sexual preference in that 1 minutes air time?? [/IMG] I don't think that's what these kids wanted to hear.
I think I was not clear in my intent on my original post. Let me try again. If Adam were asked the most significant thing he recalls about being twelve years old, I believe it would be his beginning awareness of his sexual orientation. Given his statements in other interviews about how he felt at that time, I believe it was a difficult time and a major experience in his life. And there was an interview where he said flat out that in the seventh grade he had NO friends and he dreaded lunch hour. I will try to find the YT of it. My point was, as open and honest and self-revealing as Adam is, he also understands there is the proper time and place for it. This children's program was not it. So, instead, he chooses a light, amusing memory. I think it also had the subtle subtext of saying that the roots of his fabulous-ness were already present at 12, so you can achieve your dreams, too. Just my thoughts and interpretations. It was meant as praise for Adam's acumen, not as criticism or complaint.
