It never ceases to amaze me how articulate Adam is in interviews or live chats. Many things he says are so profound and quotable, like what he said in the NZ radio interview yesterday when answering the question on what advice would he give on breaking into the music business. He might not have finished college like the rest of his family, or be the best speller, but I really believe he is extremely intelligent. Brilliant even. I really believe it, too. Actually, I know he is. And it's got nothing to do with having or not having a college degree. You have no idea how many educated, but unwise people I've met, PhDs, Mensa members, who can come across as very shallow, who are unable to handle life's challenges; choleric characters, obsessed with not so relevant facts; who can tell you, for example, when the certain book was published, the title, the author, every fact, and every review, but the essence, the point of the book eludes them... And vice versa - I've met illiterate peasants ( the school I work in is in a rural area) who have more wisdom of life in their pinky nail than all those doctors; who communicate with nature, elements, animals, and they draw their conclusions spontaneously, unpretentiously, silently, but you can tell from their demenour, their relation towards others, or life in general, and their behaviour how enlightened they are... I value intuition over information, contents over package, wisdom over education, quality over quantity;and I feel Adam does as well. In the beginning I thought that there must be many Adams in this world and that I just haven't had the chance to meet them, but I can see that he is a rarity even in the developed countries... in his own country as well... A free spirit, a believer in love, in art... who seeks his happiness in communicating with other people; a sweet character, but not naive or gullible; a great and quick learner, but who never lets his knowledge taint his sweetness with presumptuousness; an iron hand in a silk glove... His socio-emotional intelligence is extremely high, you can tell it from his interviews, from the ways he handles certain situations... He is so positive, agreeable, pleasant... I don't like dark, moody people, who are always bitter and cynical, despicable towards others; Adam's disposition which he works seriously on, his introspectiveness, self-awareness, are so appealing to me. He chooses to be nice and not play some cool dude and he keeps saying he is not cool, but he so is in my book, if not for anything else then for not trying to play one... He is a thinker, focused on matters which he finds relevant and you can tell his priorities from that, his likes and dislikes, dos and donts... And all that combined tells about his moral code and the first and foremost reason why I admire him that much is exactly that - his moral code. In a recent interview he talked about silencing the outside noise; I think he meant the stuff like radio play, adds, dates, data, numbers, info, etc... He has to tune them out in order to create music, and it's not easy and it's a process for him, to focus himself; and I love him for saying that and for doing that... Not many people do that. I can tell how intelligent he is from the sheer way he is able to focus: on music when he works, on an interviewer during the interview, on his audience when he sings, I presume on his lover when he makes love... He wants to do everything he does the best possible way he can... to feel and experience everything to the fullest degree. I've never known anyone like him and my husband always tells me that I'm seeking the impossible, a non-existant man who lives only in my mind and English literature, lol. But that's not true - Adam comes as close as no one else to my definition of a perfect man, in spite of all his imperfections. And he is very much alive and kicking. Adam is the evidence that I am not crazy. I have to go now. Kudos to all who managed to read my bs, can't you tell that I could go on and on and on... lol . Broken record.      please go on... you speak for me as well

Adam has a lot of time between The Voice of China and the concert in Australia. Bet he goes to New Zealand!! ETA: Barry Squire find musicians for many artists including Adam. Looks like a new drummer could be needed. But he works for a lot of people: www.barrysquire.com/But why would Brian London be twitting this? I know he plays keys for other artists as well, but he's Adam's musical director...I'm just so fond of Isaac, ya know? Brian is Adam's musical director so he is responsible for the band. It may just be that Isaac can't do some of the International shows OR it may not even be for Adam. I like many members of Adam's band but I know they will come and go. I am fine with that as long as Adam keeps performing. And I follow most of the former band members.

How amazing is your post Alexandra ?! One of many I have earmarked. I love when others appreciate someone I care about and never having been a "fan" to my Adamlove extent, I get such pleasure and enjoyment through the experience of those like you. He is a joy in my life...how fortunate we are to have a world of AL lovers who understand. le sigh....

He might not have finished college like the rest of his family, or be the best speller, but I really believe he is extremely intelligent. Brilliant even. I agree with you and Aleksandrakv. It's clear that Adam is an intelligent man. He's articulate and profound, as you've said. His vocabulary in addition to the way he uses words and creates metaphors as he talks is proof of that. I find it truly fascinating. He can hold his own in every conversation he's thrown into. He has a brilliant sense of humor too. The fact that he has a brilliant mind is one of the things that won me over, actually. That, in addition to his honesty and the fact that he's actually genuinely nice. For me to become a fan, the artist needs to have both a tremendous talent and some substance. I can't be a fan of someone who's a bad person, or shallow and dumb. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a classist when it comes to being a fan of someone. : I might like an artist if he/she has the talent, but I won't consider myself a fan if they don't attract me as persons too, if they don't stimulate me intellectually. For me, Adam has the whole package.

What you wrote was amazing, Aleks.
I have spent many years in academic settings. Also political. People who believe that they know it all because they can read, write, or speak well. "Smart" people are dime a dozen.
A political pundit of yesteryear once said that the first 435 people out of the Boston phone book could run the country better than Congress. I agree.
Adam has a beautiful soul and he has sense. I value "smarts" much less than I once did.

Got my fingers crossed for New Zealand!!! Got my fingers crossed for Spain!!! He hasn't been to Spain right?? Just like when he was in Scottland and he wore the Kilt with sporran. Like Shoshanna said about the matador outfit.. so I'm imagining Adam wearing one of this... ;D ;D

[/IMG] I don't think that's what these kids wanted to hear.
I think I was not clear in my intent on my original post. Let me try again. If Adam were asked the most significant thing he recalls about being twelve years old, I believe it would be his beginning awareness of his sexual orientation. Given his statements in other interviews about how he felt at that time, I believe it was a difficult time and a major experience in his life. And there was an interview where he said flat out that in the seventh grade he had NO friends and he dreaded lunch hour. I will try to find the YT of it. My point was, as open and honest and self-revealing as Adam is, he also understands there is the proper time and place for it. This children's program was not it. So, instead, he chooses a light, amusing memory. I think it also had the subtle subtext of saying that the roots of his fabulous-ness were already present at 12, so you can achieve your dreams, too. Just my thoughts and interpretations. It was meant as praise for Adam's acumen, not as criticism or complaint.
Cassie, you forgot to mention that the ??? question marks were not like :dunno: question marks but more like :4OMG: question marks. I think you made good points about this man who says "I don't have a filter," because as we see every day oh yes he does. For the technically minded of us I'm going to use the Excel definition of "filter". You use an Excel filter when you have a large amount of data at your disposal, ready to use at any time. However different people want to only see different parts of the data. Some might only want data that was created in the last year, others only data that is asociated with the color orange, and others who would only like to hear about the data that is both purple and expensive. A filter allows you to input the criteria and present only the data relevant to the requester. Adam's "I don't have a filter" statement is more like "I don't have a permanent filter" or "I don't have a filter that is imposed from the outside". For those people who are looking for both purple and expensive he might just decide that expensive is elitist and take it or leave it he might go, "I'll filter down to purple honey but some of the best things are free." Sometimes he forgets his criteria. Take the AMAs. If he'd gone first that night the filter would have been firmly in place. But he watched the show and the "only women can get away with it" filter went down the drain with Gaga's whiskey. But usually it's an amazingly accurate and blazingly fast mechanism.

Aleksandra... I also believe and know that he's very smart.. street smart. One of the US journalist who interviewed him (forgot which one), actually mentioned on his article that Adam is one very smart pop artist.. or something like that. I was very surprised when the guy wrote that, because I was wondering if industry & media people aside of his fans quitly admitting that he is one smart cookie ;D
