IMO the only reason that makes sense (to me) for Adam to decline the AI job would be the pre-determined role that each judge was required to play...perhaps that came out late in the negotiations process and he did decline... we will never know.... anyway - did anyone notice that after the TP was played the DJ said something about S. Tyler getting back to Idol... Are there any rumors to that effect? Why did he say that? Just to visit .. sing a song..

Maybe he changed his mind during the negotiations ??? Maybe they didn't let him to be his honest himself ??? Sauli didn't mention AI, but he did talk about the fake in American reality TV shows and how they give judges different roles to play. Then Sauli said nothing about American Idol and Adam turning down the job. Fans jumped to that conclusion and now are repeating it as if Sauli said "Adam wasn't interested in the job". Adam wanted the job up until the night of his Ambien tweets. A little over one week later, Idol had settled on Randy. Adam's a smart business man. He knew he could make gold (or platinum ) out of an opportunity to be in front of 15-16 million TV viewers every week. He's smart enough to know what something like this would have meant at this point in his career. WEll I do think they give the judges some advice on how to spice up the show... Minaj and Mariah already feuding,Britney the tough judge.. It's show business after all..and putting on a show is what it's all about.. gotta sell those Fords, etc. Whatever.. Adam,IMHO needs to just keep singing all over the world.. ;D

People keep assuming that Idol decided to pass on Adam but it appears that Shirley Halperin may have been accurate when she reported on 8/17/12 that Adam was a "big star" who was not interested in Idol. A few Finnish fans have said that Sauli indicated that Adam was not interested in doing Idol in yesterday's Tutka Roadshow. Hopefully we will have a translation soon. Unless someone has a source for Idol passing on Adam, it remain an assumption -- and is looking more like a wrong assumption. So do you think he changed his mind in the last week, before the announcement, or do you think he lied when he said how much he would like to do it? I would love to think that he turned it down, but his interviews and tweets point to him wanting it! JMHO -- I do not think Adam ever lied -- and saying how much he would like to be an Idol judge and it was a possibility, could be true at the same time as Adam not being interested in doing it on Fox/Idol's terms. >> I am certain that Idol really approached Adam and he was interested. I also know that there was some offer that Adam would have accepted and that Adam/his management would not slam the door shut until it was entirely over. >> Shirley Halperin got the scoop on everything else on 8.17.12 -- and she is an Adam fan -- I think she would not have put him in the big star/not interested quadrant without info. She could have just left him off -- as she did with some of the others Idol talked to. I have learned that more than one thing can be true at the same time -- for example. >> Adam could have wanted to do Idol if it was on favorable terms. His management would have responded to a feeler offer "What would it take IF...." with something -- essentially No to the feeler offer BUT. >> At the same time, Fox could have had Adam on a short list but it didn't work out that he was the best choice in their opinion. Both would have said "no". And they seem to be contradictory.

Re Adam's tweet about Spain: when I saw his tweet, I was as excited as if he would go there very soon. But then I wondered if he just tried to comfort the Spanish fans ?? what do you think?

www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/music/bs-ae-adam-lambert-marriage-equality-20120921,0,3252503.story Adam Lambert joins movement for marriage equality in Md.Pop singer headlines concert at 9:30 Club on Tuesday By Mary Clare Fischer For The Baltimore Sun 6:08 p.m. EDT, September 21, 2012 Adam Lambert waited until after he was crowned runner-up of American Idol's eighth season to reveal that he was gay (which came as a surprise to almost no one). Since then, he's become the first openly gay man to top the Billboard 200 album chart with his second album, "Trespassing." Now, he's lending his support to the push toward marriage equality in Maryland. Tuesday, Lambert headlines a fundraising concert for Marylanders for Marriage Equality at the 9:30 Club in D.C. Lambert was eager to discuss his feelings on the bill, his identity as a gay artist and whether or not marriage is in the cards for him. Do you have plans to get married? No plans now. I would like the right. I'm fighting for not only myself but for anybody else who's gay or lesbian and wants to be able to be married. Whether I was straight or gay, I would still support this issue because it's a human issue. If there are enough yeses on Question 6, Maryland will be the first state to uphold marriage equality bill after it's been put to referendum. What are your thoughts on that?To me, I saw Prop 8 come up in California, and everyone assumed it would work out. Unfortunately, it didn't, and that was kind of embarrassing. When that happened, I said if there's anything I can do in the future to help lend my support to this type of cause, I'm going to. When I heard about Maryland, I was like, 'This is the next Prop 8!' What I love about this concept is that it's giving the power to the people, which is an important step. more.. Proud of him.

It's not outside the realm of possibility that they made him an offer and after discussing it with his management decided it wasn't in his best interest to take it. If they are truly only paying Keith Urban 3-5 million you can bet their offer to Adam was even less than that.

[/IMG] ;D
Mariah and Nicki probably have clashed, but there is no feud. Like Mariah said in the latest press conference, it takes more than two days to establish a feud. Nigel just likes to blow things up for the attention. I'm not sure that Britney is "all there". When the show goes live, we will see how Britney REALLY is. Every year, I think that Christina is awesome during the audition rounds of the Voice and then it all changes when the live shows start....... ;D The edit monkeys can make the judges seem like entirely different people than they really are. Adam would have given them so much to work with! They wouldn't have had to spice up his personality or edit him to make him something he wasn't. Oh well, maybe something like this opportunity will come along next year or for another singing type show because Adam would be an amazing judge or mentor.
