ERA #2? I think I, and maybe many others, thought that when Adam emerged from his year off and released his fabulous second album it was going to create a storm the size and strength of a force 5 hurricane. He was going to conquer the world in very visible fashion. Didn't happen. I was probably being unrealistic. Instead, what we have gotten in ERA 2 is a calm and steady course, with a few marvelous highlights thrown in (and not just hair highlights) and a few disappointments. I miss the excitement and thrill of a skyrocketing new star, I can't lie. But, as in any relationship, that kind of incandescence cannot be sustained indefinitely. At some point it either burns out or transforms into something quieter and deeper. In ERA 2 I see Adam as an established international artist who is doing well, creating wonderful music, enjoying life and exploring new possibilities. Now, I just have to adjust my fan style to enjoy what he is giving us in this ERA and look forward to what he will give us in the future, without placing my own expectations on his career or his life.  |

Adamme We were thinking about going to the DC concert but the logistics/traffic etc. worried us.

I am sorry for being blunt here. First I want to say. I love ATOP and even more: I think it could be most useful for Adam. The only platform for news, discussions and time líne documention. BUT, is has not been a very happy place lately. One year ago, all pages were full of either news and related discussions, or, if things were slow, happy postings of youtube or pictures that were joyful to see. Maybe also happy OT discussions. Remember trowing peas?? Not worring so much what bad will happen to Adam or what bad someone thought that did happen to Adam. And now it seems to me that this current worrying and gloom is chasing a lot of people away from ATOP, even if they are not saying it our loud. In Twitter people can choose to follow happy people, and leave out the others out. And that's where you still can find these people, who used to post on ATOP, so they have not left the fandom. We need to decide what do we want? What kind forum we want ATOP to be? I know mods will set the rules, but we all who post here will set the mood. I am taking a responsibility of this post, and you all are entitled to disagree or even not approve my writing. Feedback welcome! I applaud your post...took cahones to say what you did, Leenaseyez!This is my two cents...something happened here during the 'Great Drought' when there was no information and no Adam. We were so used to seeing him perform constantly and spirits were generally high before this. To me, that is when the angsting really set in. I wish if I could go back to that time, that Adam and his team had thrown a few crumbs to us now and again. Then the rollout came and it was a mess. Two singles that haven't smashed the charts. It's been one continuous state of emotional tension IMO for fans. Today is the Equinox..the balance between the light and the dark. My hope is for Atopers to feel free to discuss away, but never forget that laughter and playfulness are integral or there is no balance. We have lost, what, 4 people today? I don't have a solution, but together we have many light spirits and great minds here. Can we work together to create an Atop that allows for discussion and fun? Losing members like this seems so unnecessary, but what do I know.. |
