Adam's benefit show in DC!!! Not sure if someone already posted or I'm posting in the wrong place but.... This show is not sold out yet and it is this Tuesday. I know the tickets are expensive but am just suggesting we spread the word/promote it a little outside of Atop (if you haven't already). Really hate to see him not sell out a small club like 9:30 Club especially a high-profile fundraiser. It's a full show with full band, and a great cause! [/IMG]
This is not Adam's gig .. It's a fund raiser for Marriage Equality for Maryland. Adam is donating his time, probably without a fee, to help. If people don't go & raise money for this important vote ,it has nothing to do with Adam. He is just the icing on the cake. This benefit would have taken place with or without Adam. My concern is for the lack of interest by the LGBT community to raise money and awareness to get this bill passed in Maryland. This is not an Adam concert for Adam or even about Adam..So not selling out all the tickets doesn't, IMHO, reflect on Adam ,It reflects on the community. I think If you're worried you can send a donation to the equality movement.. There is an address somewhere.
I'm aware it's not a normal gig but Adam is involved. I know it's an important cause. I have been and will continue to support marriage equality through money and time. And, I'm going to the show. I want Adam AND the cause to generate enough interest to sell out a venue this size.

I have been and will continue to support marriage equality through money and time. And, I'm going to the show. I want Adam AND the cause to generate enough interest to sell out a venue this size. Me too. I work for gay rights.. Don't ask what's been going on in North Carolina in the last few month. I'm so happy you're going to the show ,I wish I could go.. Please fill us in on all the details. You are doing a great deal by going, but unless you buy the tickets, pick up the people and take them to the show, what can you possibly do. I have been so upset that the Gay community hasn't supported Adam in great numbers. My goodness if each person bought one album.they don't have to even listen.. Adam would have sold a million copies of Trespassing .An album that is basically a love note to his own community. It wouldn't only help Adam ,it would help them . More gay artists would be able to get through that glass ceiling. so I'm a bit disturbed at the lack of interest in supporting this concert for marriage equality and in supporting Adam's career. The community should see the big picture. Again I admire you for your caring.. but what can you do but worry and where will worry get you.. It's gotten me pains in my chest.

I would hope that all viewpoints are welcome here. I guess I am a more serious person, and a board that consists of all fluff and crotchshots wouldn't interest me at all. I love deep discussions and varied viewpoints. I love this board because it consists of mature insights along with levity and the pretty. So I hope I belong here as well as those who want only the lighthearted banter and the "apple pie."
