The discussion in this thread inspired me to post this general comment. This comment is not directed specifically at any poster.
All viewpoints but one are welcome here -- the one that is not welcomed here is mindless angst and worry. If your post starts with any form of "I worried about Adam....", there is no place for it here. And I will delete it.
Beyond that the guideline of this forum are clear and on page one.

I would hope that all viewpoints are welcome here. I guess I am a more serious person, and a board that consists of all fluff and crotchshots wouldn't interest me at all. I love deep discussions and varied viewpoints. I love this board because it consists of mature insights along with levity and the pretty. So I hope I belong here as well as those who want only the lighthearted banter and the "apple pie." Aww, I must go on record and say you're one of the posters whose posts always interest me. I rarely if ever -- lemme think -- okay never -- engage in the serious stuff -- well, if you don't count this -- lemme think -- no, don't count this -- but I sincerely, genuinely, honestly value your posts. It takes all kinds. Which makes me think it's okay to post dumb stuff because for every dumb. lighthearted me there's an intelligent, serious you. Shit, I just previewed my post and it's littered with dumb smileys. Hard to see with a cracked screen but they're there. Grrrr. >:( >:( >:

I'm aware it's not a normal gig but Adam is involved. I know it's an important cause. I have been and will continue to support marriage equality through money and time. And, I'm going to the show. I want Adam AND the cause to generate enough interest to sell out a venue this size. Me too. I work for gay rights.. Don't ask what's been going on in North Carolina in the last few month. I'm so happy you're going to the show ,I wish I could go.. Please fill us in on all the details. You are doing a great deal by going, but unless you buy the tickets, pick up the people and take them to the show, what can you possibly do. I have been so upset that the Gay community hasn't supported Adam in great numbers. My goodness if each person bought one album.they don't have to even listen.. Adam would have sold a million copies of Trespassing .An album that is basically a love note to his own community. It wouldn't only help Adam ,it would help them . More gay artists would be able to get through that glass ceiling. so I'm a bit disturbed at the lack of interest in supporting this concert for marriage equality and in supporting Adam's career. The community should see the big picture. Again I admire you for your caring.. but what can you do but worry and where will worry get you.. It's gotten me pains in my chest. I'll prob never stop worrying. Think I've just given in to that. lol. But, I do try to think in baby steps and be proud that this event is taking place at all and Adam exists in our world to be there. The DC metro area is fairly liberal and definitely has a gay community. I know a lot of glamberts (straight women) are going of course but would so love to see members of the gay community fill up the rest of the club. You're right - the album is a love note. I still have hope it and his future albums will touch more in his own community.

[/IMG]
The other concert was the one at National Harbor, right? Wasn't that some sort of overnight package deal? I thought it was expensive, something like $240. I also think the prices for 9:30 club are high for your average person who wants to see Adam. I realize it's a benefit and that's the reason but for a Monday night in DC, I don't see people rushing to pay that much. Also, for that price, personally, I want a seat :-) Just me. I hope it sells out over the weekend!
[laughs] Just so you all know, $175 is an INSANE price for the 9:30 Club. Tickets rarely sell for more than $30. Its dark. Pretty much standing room only. There's food, but its hard to get to. Plus, peeps in Washington WORK during the week. Its a city of workaholics. Tuesday night has got to be one of the weirdest nights for a benefit ever. [shrugs] DC ain't LA. I don't know anyone who goes out on a Tuesday....unless its to another meeting. ;D
