Remember the previous concert where Adam got on this girl for having her phone on the stage (in a gentle way)? He called her "Mary." She was in the front tonight and Adam knelt down to her, asked her name, explained that she had her cell phone "up my nose" at that concert, and said something about calling everybody "Mary" -- I think a community thing? That's all I could understand. Yeah, you got it, Cassie.  Calling each other "Mary" has been a part of the gay community for many decades. e.g., "Mary, please." (meaning get a hold of yourself.) He also talk about the power of language and referred to himself as the f word, but using it. And he schooled a teenage girl for being out and whether she was old enough to get in. Told her not to drink and to not use the (other) f word. Remember on Watch What Happens Live when he said "Mary, please" to Beth Ditto, and she said, "That's actually my name!" |
