Adam's picture is gorgeous on the new EP. He is definitely our little sunbeam. Always will think of Adam when I hear the word "sunbeam." Lee Cherry did his usual exceptional work.

Re the EP cover, this is how I see it:



The central motif for me is the sun-kissed mouth. That mouth belts out the powerful message of Trespassing; it's Adam's roar to the world. Covering them with the Sun, the ultimate source of life, a couple of things can be concluded, imho:

~ Adam's message is nothing new. It is old as life, as the Sun itself. A person's need to belong and the grief at feeling as an outcast are primeval. And, of course, the ultimately best way to handle it: to raise one's head, to refuse to be put in the corner, to stop being afraid, just like Whitney Kropp did, like Adam did. There are so many Whitneys and Adams in this world.

~ The Sun is also the ultimate symbol of equality, casting its rays undisciminately on all. Who then can give themselves such power, such authority, to disciminate? Who can think of themselves as superior to the Sun? So, Adam's words send such a message, but this image sends even a bigger one; as if he is saying: if you want to see, you can listen to me and you will learn, but you don't even have to do that. You can just look around yourselves, because the nature is the best teacher of all, giving the blessings of its elements to all creatures. The nature does not discriminate, it is the creatures who do.

~ Adam and the Sun kiss. Adam shows that he himself is in communion with Mother Nature. He shows that he wants to live by her rules, not by the degenerate rules of society. It's rebelious in a way, anarchic, but since the song is called Trespassing, it fits. There can be nothing radical about the kiss.

In front of Nature, his love is the right love just because it is true love. Nothing else matters. In some of his songs, like Nirvana, Adam alludes that , like a real flower-child, he feels comfortable with his lover in Nature. He feels welcome, embraced. But not in society.


I haven't given much thought to his wardrobe and his body shape, though it does remid me of Michael Jackson
