My Hollywood Fantasy:
10 starring roles for Adam

Adam has said he wants to establish himself as a recording artist before he focuses on acting. But since Adam #2 seems to be in good hands and he is working with some great collaborators – plus there are already a few thousand avid Glamberts and Glamninjas on following every move and squeezing/angsting over every possibility – the music front is well covered right now. So I thought I would turn my attention to the movies. So here is my list of the 10 roles Adam was born to play.



1. Freddy Mercury (release date TBD maybe 2012) – Yes, Sacha Baron Cohen is cast in the part but I do not want to see a 39- year-old SBC in a lycra catsuit.

Shooting will begin late this year or next year, said producer Graham King, whose GK Films is partnering on the project with Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal's Tribeca Productions, and Queen manager Jim Beach.

The film, which is being scripted by Frost/Nixon writer Peter Morgan, will follow the band from its early years to its 1985 Live Aid performance - six years before Mercury's death. That means that SBC needs to play Freddy from his early 20’s to age 39. Just do not see this as a perfect fit. JMHO – think Madonna playing Evita – too old, can’t sing. (I greatly respect both SBC and Madonna but sometimes you just have to know when to say, “no”.

Sasha, my dear, listen to me, pass this on to the one who should do this. And we all know who that is.

Adam, on the other hand was born to don skin-tight lycra and play the flamboyant frontman Freddie Mercury. Who else has the stage presence, voice and bravado to pull this off? Adam could actually sing the part.

2. Robin Hood in Technocolor (unscheduled): OK I just think Adam would be great as that defender of the downtrodden, partying in Sherwood Forest with his band of Merry Men. And, yes, tights would be involved! Now I am not picturing one of these drab modern versions of the film that are “historically accurate” and looked like they were painted in sepia tones. I have in mind an updated version of the grand MGM film. Check out the preview – Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) even had rhinestones on his forest costume.

3. Film Noir Untitled Film Noir Masterpiece (unscheduled) – Adam is a creature of the night – so want better role than the starring role in this dark tale.




4. The Great Gatsby (remake – although I believe the film has never been made properly). Picture Adam a glamtastic movie version of the novel by the F. Scott Fitzgerald. First published in 1925, the story is set on Long Island's North Shore and in New York City during the summer of 1922 at the height of the "roaring 20’s”. Cast Adam as the mysterious, millionaire bootlegger Jay Gatsby. (And, no it would not be a musical!)

5. Anime – the movie (unscheduled): Adam would just need to be voice talent – but it would be “The Voice”. The perfect vehicle for a glam rock soundtrack featuring Adam Lambert music. Just for the concept:




6. Prince of Persia Sands of Time (remake without Disney involved): The preview says it all – they did not capture the spirit of the game character in this film but it could be amazing if it was freed of the Disney PG-13 limits. This movie deserves to be remade and should be remade with a real prince in the lead.




7. Lord of the Rings IV – the biggest sequel of all time (unfunded)

Adam as one of the tall elves – I can see it now. Here is the pitch in case you were unaware that the film was being pitched:




8. Velvet Goldmine (remake of the film with the same script and same director, Todd Haynes). Adam’s favorite film. The 1998 British/American film is mostly based on David Bowie's 'Ziggy Stardust' character and set in Britain during the days of glam rock in the early 1970s.

Since most of us know this movie, I thought I would throw in something special. A Ziggy Stardust out-take recorded at Trident on 11 November 1971. Originally titled "He's a Goldmine". 'Velvet Goldmine' remained unreleased until 1975' s reissue of the 'Space Oddity' single. 'Velvet Goldmine' also gave its name to Todd Haynes's 1998 film.

9. Ninja Madness (unfunded): This would be the most awesomest movie of all time. And it is a time travel, space travel, musical ninja movie.




10. Hard Rock Zombies (a remake with a real budget)

Vampires have been done to death. It is time for Zombies the new vampires. And nothing can beat a Rock Zombie.

The plot: A hard rock band travels to the tiny and remote town of Grand Guignol to perform. Peopled by hicks, rubes, werewolves, murderous dwarves, sex perverts, and Hitler, the town is a strange place but that doesn't stop the band's lead singer from falling in love with a local girl named Cassie. After Nazi sex perverts kill the band to satisfy their lusts, Cassie calls the rockers back from the grave to save her, the town, and maybe the world.

The trailer for the low-budget version of the film – does not do the concept justice! But here it is (and yes it is a real movie.)

Adam Lambert Gate-Crashing Spree

Grammy-nominated recording artist Adam Lambert was spotted in a Northsouthwest Hollywood neighborhood Saturday night, running amok through the streets, attacking gates along the way. Eyewitnesses reported that Lambert and his friends cut a swath of destruction through their quiet gated community. Hildegarde Highbrow stated, “There were gates left open all over the place. We take pride in keeping our gates closed around here.” Her neighbor, Bo Tocksly, agreed that Lambert’s behavior was out of control. “My gate was tightly shut when I went to bed, and this morning I found it to be ajar! Appalling!”

Authorities were called to the scene, but our sources disclosed that charges were not filed, and Lambert and his crew were allowed to leave after a brief questioning. “We have bigger fish to fry, quite frankly,” said Officer F. Rendly, before he sped off in his cruiser. “Just got a report that someone named Perez Hilton was found passed out drunk on Lady Gaga’s doorstep wearing a pink onesie and holding a handmade poster with “I love you, wifey” painted on it in cupcake icing. Never a dull moment.”

Lambert’s boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen, was asked for comment, but he only giggled quietly in Finnish before being hustled into Lambert’s vehicle.

Upon hearing of the events, Lambert’s large fanbase was in an uproar. “We are in an uproar,” said AdamsSekritLvr on his or her blog. Posters struggled to express their emotions with smileys and emoticons, with the “happy cry” and the “Prince William laugh” most commonly in use. Predictably, some were highly supportive of their idol, while others expressed concern at the implications of the incident on the singer’s career. Fans on both sides of the issue were eager to tell each other how to think and feel. Twitter activity was so high that “Adam,” “#GateGate,” and “STFU” all trended for hours.

Z4, administrator of the popular fan forum Adamania, tried to strike a reasonable balance. “Adam has survived many “gates” and this will not hurt his career at all,” she posted. “Consider his recent collaborations with current hitmakers. Consider his worldwide album sales. Consider his pants, for pete’s sake.” In a last-ditch effort to distract her members, she proceeded to spam the news thread with scrolling YouTube videos of various past artists who exemplify Adam’s Rock & Roll spirit.

Things only calmed down when Lambert finally broke silence and tweeted:

@adamlambert: You wanted gates? So did i! Dig it!! : )

This was followed by:

@adamlambert: Got a splinter in my finger, Lol. #woopsie #ouch

After which, fans united in sending support to their favorite, tweeting him everything from tips on splinter removal to photos of young men in nurses uniforms to accounts of their own youthful escapades with garden enclosures.

It was noted that the style icon was wearing an Alexander McQueen shirt, Skingraft jacket and gloves, and Diesel jeans as he left the scene of the crime. It was also noted that he looked freakin’ hawt.
