Thanks. Listened to both YouTube examples. Definitely some Bach influence is some of Eddie's playing (plus a famous violin etude) and fast fingers. I still prefer Dr. Bri for musicality. His solo has arch, continuity, expressiveness. For me Eddie's solo is a bunch of unrelated flashiness strung together. These extended solos are like a cadenza in a classical concerto, and I can't help but look at them through my classical lenses. |
