I am delighted about the news from China. People are interested! Adam's weibo followers count has now surpassed 180000 the growth not being not nearly as rapid as after The Voice but still no signs of stopping. I truly hope their concert plans are progressing and he could perform there soon(ish) and make some money out of it. (Referring to an interview where he said that the album is not officially released there and remembering that album sales would not amount to much in China even if it was out.)
belle, generally speaking, there isn't much incentive to release CDs in China, that is IF you managed to get the blessing from the Chinese Ministry of Cultural Bureau (no foreigners can have concerts or officially release CDs without their permission, except in Hong Kong & Macau). The China iTunes doesn't sell music yet, which is why many Chinese set up a "fake" US iTunes account for downloading apps. The money & effort putting into releasing an official CD in China just doesn't pay off. But, in Adam's case, it might turn out very differently!
I mentioned before that very few foreign artists have really made huge impressions in China, nationally! Avril & Shakira both appeared on Chinese national TV long before Adam did; Avril even had 6 concerts in mainland China a few years back, also, Mariah Carey (another "Voice") had her first China concert in Shanghai way back in 2003. But, none of them was put on the stage of the biggest TV show in China to half a billion viewers like Adam! He's red hot right now! It's rare to own an authentic import CD 'cuz very very limited official releases and rampant piracy practice. But, there're also lots and lots of people out there who would really really want the real stuff, especially at the height of Adam Fever. Then, there's the core Chinese fan base (one of the main fan boards has roughly 30,000 registered members)! So, imo, an official China CD release would make an excellent business move if the blessing is bestowed upon. The Dec. rumor of him doing concerts in Shanghai is not 100%, the word on weibo is he will return in Dec. not necessarily full-on concerts but definitely involved performing. My fingers are crossed for an album launch and more TV performances, then full-on concerts next year as part of TSP world tour!
As for the weibo followers, he's doing very well! Paris Hilton has the most weibo followers (920,000) among foreign celebrities who have official weibo accounts. @fans堂 has lots of NBA and other sports celebs as their clients, who generally have way more weibo followers than entertainers. Among the entertainers/musicians, from what I gather, Avril leads the pack with 320,000, Shakira 240,000, Adam 180,000, Jason Mraz 80,000, Kelly Clarkson 69,000......A. Levine 13,000 (Maroon 5 just had 2 big stadium concerts in Shanghai & Hong Kong)....and newly joined (a few weeks ago) Alicia Keys 9,000 already ahead of Enrique.

From Hong Kong, Macau, Tai Wan, AO official store, Amazon, etc. or the same way how my nephews & nieces back in China got theirs --- from me!
adamme: That's not Adam's weibo account, that's Adam Lambert Chinese fan club official weibo account.
ETA: I've had friends and families asking me to bring them Adam CDs or related stuff as birthday, Chinese New Year and such presents. ;D
