This whole buying thing is going to be a mess and nothing will come out of it in the end
You may be right but what else can we do? It just makes sense to me to get "Trespassing" the single as high as possible on iTunes so it's at least visible. That seems to be what most fans are planning on twitter (on my feed at least). It will only be visible if it reach Top10, which it prolly won't. Sigh

OMG... I have a whole lot of very important things to do today, and here I am, watching and listening to everything Adam's been doing while I was asleep. Particularly happy about this: "Many artists film their videos in exotic locations...which one would you choose?" by Veronica from Uruguay "I think it would be cool to do something in Europe... an old world area... maybe Rome, or Spain, or Greece... by Adam LambertI'll keep my fingers crossed for you! This so made me LOL!

Okay, I THINK this will be my buying strategy -- buy each song on the EP separately from I-tunes plus the original Trespassing single from I tunes. Buy the digital EP from Amazon. I've already ordered the physical EP from AO. Will someone who knows about this stuff, let me know if this is a sane strategy. Also, if I were to gift digital downloads of the EP, where should I buy them from. Lastly, I'm buying on 10/16 -- good date?

This whole buying thing is going to be a mess and nothing will come out of it in the end Ugh....looks that way now with peeps strategizing in different directions. Although purchasing & gifting the separate Trespassing tracks might not result in high itune placement, it doesn't make sense to me to concentrate on the ep because that won't do anything to encourage radio stations to add Trespassing. exactly. I will be buying singles in all flavors on iTunes. The discussion from last night (the end of yesterday's thread) did not convince me otherwise. The upsetting thing is that we seemed to have a unified strategy to go for the singles and then it all got muddled with the EP charting - which made no sense as far as the single is concerned... I hope to hear from Shosh - I tweeted her asking for direction, no reply of course though... may be others can ask as well...

I don't know about anyone else. But I think the reason for the new remix ep is to boost sales of the Trespassing SINGLE. RCA could have just released the radio edit as a single (to enable fans who already had the album to buy it again). But this ep allows for 4 times the sales of the single so the SONG would have impact it's first week of sales. (RCA did a remix release in the past to re-energize sales of WWFM.) I don't believe radio programmers are going to be looking at first week sales of the remix album to decide whether to add TRESPASSING the single to their playlists. If that had been the case, then the album debuting as #1 back in May should have ensured that NCOE got adds at Z100 and the other top 40 giants. NCOE the single didn't have sales because fans were buying albums (and I believe RCA was giving away NCOE downloads as a bonus). I know a lot of fans have given this launch strategy considerable thought. But I am going to be buying all four versions of the SINGLE. I will buy the physical remix cd at some later time. THIS! THIS! THIS!! [/IMG] And remember people, once you DL the entire CD at i-Tunes you will never be ale to just purchase the singles individually unless they are gifted. If getting a #1 album did nothing for giving the singles visibility, how in the world will charting an EP at #20 or #50 help it! :-/ I am DLing the 4 singles individually (twice because I have 2 accounts) and getting the EP from AO, both digitally and physical. Yes, you can DL the EP digitally at AO. I haven't seen it at Amazon yet.

To me, the EP charting makes more sense than no single charting. But it's not me who's buying. It's up to you Americans

I had to skip a lot of yesterday's thread so I didn't see the discussion. But I can't see putting emphasis on the EP charting. However I will go back & read.
