Me neither . My ass is firmly attached to my chair . But it was good to read it , anyway There are thousands of submissions for the grammy's. unless someone leaks the list we won't see anything. From these submissions members will vote to select the actual grammy nominations. Yeah, labels submit almost everything. Even Cook got his album submitted that last year he was with RCA. IMO the only category that he has the slightest chance for is Pop album. Trespassing is such a great album, he was really only one moderate hit away from being a lock...IMO, of course.

After the discussion yesterday about Youtube's and iTunes' efforts to eliminate fan spamming, I am wondering about Rhaosody etc. I have made a Rhapsody playlist with about 15 Trespassing tracks which I play often. Would it be better to just play it intermixed with other tracks and less frequently? From what I can tell, these rules do not apply to services like Rhapsody. There is a big difference between doing what you normally would do and doing something to have an effect of the charts. Fans can effect the chart -- see page 1 for some ideas. BUT a fan gifting program alone will not do it. It takes more. ** The Britney and Rhianna fans are very good at managing fan buying programs -- they organize and wait until the radio is in place. The problem for Adam fans is that there is no certainty that radio will be there. We need to adopt the strategies used by alt. rock artists -- like maximizing on-demand play. So my recommendation is to stream, stream, stream and stream some more!!

So sad the Grammy thread is lost! Hopefully we get to build a new one!! I am not counting on a Best Pop Vocal Album nomination but I think Trespassing has a chance. ETA: Poorly written -- edited: Hopefully we get to build a new Grammy night thread!! I am not counting on a Best Pop Vocal Album nomination for Trespassing (album) but I think Trespassing album has a chance.

Your statement seems contradictory. Do you mean Trespassing the single has a chance? I think the album has a strong chance.

If there's any justice in the world, Trespassing (the album) will be nominated. IMO, it has a chance. It was a #1 album and generally got rave reviews. Almost everyone who listen to it love it. I'm not counting on a nomination, though. But I sure hope for one, because the album deserves it so much it's not even funny.

Do you mnean Trespassing the single has a chance? I think the album has a strong chance. Just poorly written -- I think TRESPASSING ALBUM has a chance to be nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album but I am not counting on it. I want to celebrate IF it gets nominated NOT be disappointed if it does not. There are only 5 slots. Here are my 5 guesses. 'Trespassing' by Adam Lambert (I have to pick him <3 ) ‘The Truth About Love’ by Pink (My pick to win) ‘Strange Clouds’ by B.o.B (or Frank Ocean who will have a good year) ‘MDNA’ by Madonna (classic artists fair well with Grammy voters, album is on many best of 2012 lists). ‘Born and Raised’ by John Mayer (Grammy voters love him) But could also go to Bieber, Maroon 5, Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Fiona Apple, or one of over 400 other albums. Trespassing (album) remains a pop genre album without a pop hit. That is a challenge in this category. The last non-hit winner was Duffy's Rockferry in 2009. But the nominations in 2009 were not big sellers like they have been since then. On the good side, Adam is well liked by many people in the music business and this is a music business award. It all depends on how the voters split their votes on the nomination. With so many submissions, a few percentage points in the vote = a nomination. ETA: There are strong voting blocks in the Grammy academy -- indie music, R&B/Urban, British, alt rock/singer-songwriter voters, commercial/business voters who follow the $$$, etc. There is no natural voting block for Trespassing. Regarding critical acclaim -- Trespassing has made some best lists, including Rolling Stone's best of 2012 so far. www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/mid-year-report-the-best-albums-of-2012-so-far-20120709/bobby-womack-the-bravest-man-in-the-universe-19691231But "critical acclaim" is a bit of a push. On the "cool" critics lists, like Pitchfork, it is not at the top (Frank Ocean is). www.albumoftheyear.org/ratings/1-pitchfork-highest-rated/2012/1 On the press critics lists it is very good but did not get not great review. Metacritic 5 good, 5 mixed reviews www.metacritic.com/music/trespassing/adam-lambert
