I believe what that is just a list of submissions for Grammy consideration. Meaning (if true) that RCA has submitted Adam in the categories listed. They get hundreds of submissions which are then culled down to a more manageable list for nominations. This list means nothing in the grand scheme of things other than RCA put Adam into consideration, which is what they should do. I can't remember the name of the person who won in Adam's category the last time he was nominated. But, on my radar, it was someone obscure. She may have been known to the masses but not to me -- a jazz artist. I'm pretty sure her numbers weren't stellar and she won. I think Adam may have a chance to be nominated because Trespassing received strong reviews. It sure would be fun if he was nominated! She was obscure alright. The person who won in Adam's category was Bruno Mars.  I think you are thinking of either Janelle Monae, who won best R&B album though a virtual unknown up against some heavy hitters, and also in 2010, Esperanza Spaulding ??? Beat out the likes of Bieber for Best New Artist. Non-major names break through on the Grammys almost every year. It is certainly NOT "impossible." Adam's album and the vocal on BTIKM ARE deserving of high consideration. Of course, the more well-known albums, singles and artists are, the more they are ingrained in the nominating committees' consciousnesses. But I think a lot of these people (Nile has been on the committee before and takes that honor very seriously, so many truly DO try to listen and nominate with objectivity and not just answer the first person who comes to mind). The album is excellent and one of the best-reviewed in pop of the year. Maybe he will be the dark horse amid the big names. Far stranger things have happened and do every year. |

I just clicked through your link.. thats a pretty short list. Usually the lists are long and the record companies submit everything possible. I'm not sure if this is a partial list or what exactly. as far as I remember from the last time Q3's explanation - there are literally tens of thousands of submissions... it seems that everything gets submitted in all possible categories just to see what sticks... Nomination is of course another story and IMO RCA managed to screw TP so royally that despite the excellency of the album it has been pretty much unnoticed by the general public and probably the industry... Someone just asked me via PM if I would post how to gift a single, via i-Tunes. So here goes: On Tuesday, the EP might have a thumbnail but if it doesn't, just type Adam Lambert in the search box and all of Adam's albums should come up, with cover art. If the new one doesn't, at the top by his name just click on "see all" Next to the cover art for the new EP will be a track listing. It will have Song title... length of song... popularity bars...1.29 with an arrow >When you click on that arrow, you will get a dropdown menu. The first item should say "Gift this song" After you click on that, you will get a popup screen where you will put the info of the person you are gifting to. You will need their e-mail address.Here is the gifting thread. Pretty sure, your i-tunes gift card balance does not work for gifting. Thanks for your excellent tutorial about getting TP on the "charts." I think it would be great if you put a link for that on each day's headline news--just like the radio info. So many people have questions about all that and it would keep people more informed. Since many of us are asking for that info in the daily threads, we could just point out that link to people instead of repeating it again.
