BUT...a US/Canada tour with Queen...where maybe, just maybe, they did a few of Adam's songs (don't laugh here...Roger & Bri love him...who's to say they wouldn't help in that way) could really draw attention to Adam's own work. I absolutely do not want that to happen ever. I don't think it would go over well with the Queen fans and apart from that he should really keep guest-fronting Queen and his solo singing as seperate as possible. And for him opening for somebody: nope 8-) (I really don't want to pay a shitload of money for when he's only doing a 30-minute show) and as for co-headlining: nope again 8-). As always, just my opinion, not telling anybody what to think blablabla usual disclaimer ;D But the point of opening wouldn't be to give his established fanbase a concert. The point would be to give him exposure to a new, young, radio audience. And I am only talking about a handful of shows. He could still do some one-offs for fans. To me, this is all about RCA trying to break a new artist. It's artist development. Another lengthy tour to his base isn't going to achieve much. That is great if you are established, but Adam isn't there yet. Isn't that what the goal should be at this point? I want to SEE that his label values him, sees his potential, and is ready to try some new strategies to grow his fanbase. Artist development.

But would the publicity and PR be golden? I didn't see much buzz from the summer dates. Maybe if he did 1 or 2 huge arena shows with Queen in the US it would generate press. Yes!D I think doing a couple/few large Queenbert shows in the US would raise Adam's visibility and public awareness and greatly benefit any Trespassing Tour he might do. I think this would be a great way to add new fans as well. As it is, I see Trespassing audiences as mainly the same fans who show up all the time, which I'm sure Adam appreciates and is great for those lucky fans, but any artists needs new fans to continue growing and not stagnate. There are fans who show up for shows all the time, but to think that in a venue of 3,000 it's the same 3,000 that were at FS, at Winstar, at Wilke Barre is, IMO, very wrong. I would say there are a couple of hundred, maybe up to 1,000 that keep going to all the shows. The % is way more local people, at least from the shows I've been to.

So, do we all know what to do after midnight? I don't have a US account. I managed to create a UK one, but it won't let me create a US account. Anything else I can do?

There isn't much activity in the Gifting thread so I am posting my offer here. I will gift the Pharrell single to 8 people via i-Tunes. I can also do it via Amazon, if anyone prefers. Also, if anyone wants the EP gifted via Amazon, I will do that for 2 people. I need your e-mail addresss, if interested, so send me a PM. There are 2 other people in the thread offering to gift!

This was the e-mail generator we used for the UK buying campaign. It worked well. You should be able to do any country that is listed including the US. Then you have to make an i-Tunes account that uses that e-mail. www.fakenamegenerator.com/ It may not be necessary though because the US has many more fans than the UK does. That was the reason the UK campaign needed people from other countries.

If Trespassing doesn't do well, I'll try to help by doing this. But let's see how it does first.

Shosh probably retweets things about Adam's voice being insured for a large sum because it keeps the story in the public eye - good publicity whether true or not.
I agree with the person a few pages back (sorry- skimming quickly- can't remember who) who said if the insurance story is true it is likely the requirement of a promoter. When singers sometimes have to cancel shows to protect their voices the insurance covers the outstanding costs, such as still needing to pay the venue, etc. Big insurance like this could have been necessary when Adam was performing with Queen.
As for touring - It may be different in mainstream, but my son's experience in the indie world is that if the venues are not too large and the tickets are not too expensive for the intended audience, touring builds awareness and increases one's fanbase. Many casual music fans come to check the band out. Existing fans love having a show within easy traveling distance. Many stories and/or reviews pop up in local press and blogs, etc.
peace&love
