While I am not crazy about a full-out Trespassing tour, I am disappointed that we haven't yet gotten to hear Underneath live or Shady with Nile. And does VH1 still do the acoustic thing? I know he hasn't gotten much love from VH1 this era, but I would have liked to hear some of the songs done acoustically.

I am in no way a specialist in tour arrangements, but would like emphasize, that it might a bit difficult to see in US, how popular he is in some other countries. I hear Trespassing many times every day in the radio, and don't listen to it that much. On the top of that still many oldies are played. I know we are extreme, but many other countries follow close. So I do believe that he can make a succesful international tour, if selecting the places right. I have no idea, how that works in US though.... Hope I didn't make fool of myself with this babling.... :-/

And totally unpopular opinion, but I think Adam ought to do a few one-offs and scrap the idea of a major Trespassing tour. He has no hit song and the album has been off the BB chart for months. The last thing he needs is to disappear for 3 to 6 months. I would rather his management/label work on some more high profile things and simply get him actively involved in a new strategy (collabs, features, etc.) IF, Trespassing takes off or he gets a Grammy nom, that might change my opinion on a tour. Why, not even in small sized arenas like GNT? I want a tour so badly. He ought to do it, please.

I just think it does not help him to essentially disappear for 3 to 6 months touring behind an album that is completely off the radar. (Unless something changes) only my opinion, but he needs mainstream eposure. I just would rather see Adam and management/RCA looking forward and actively looking at ways to change the trajectory of his US path. New strategies, collaborations, other outlets for exposure, etc. Eta---he could still do, maybe, 6 to 10 one-offs, and possibly in larger venues

So according to you, he can still have Trespassing tour, but it's not a good idea now, because it will be more beneficial to him and the album if he can maintain his public presence, therefore a combination of performances and appearences on TV or events would be better.

As a more...outside vantage point. I think a Trespassing tour is difficult to set in motion right now. To be honest, Trespassing so far hasn't been very successful. BUT at the same time, a tour will sometimes help an album out. It's kind of a chicken and egg scenario. I honestly think they might be waiting to see what happens with the Trespassing single.
If I am Adam's rep or what not, this is how I would work it. If Trespassing the single is big, then mark at least a halfway decent Trespassing tour. If not?
You don't do a BIG TP tour. You do enough high profile appearances to stay in view. Maybe try a few more acting gigs, maybe a few more awards type shows or festivals. Enough to stay active.
Then you do a Q+AL mini tour throughout the States/World and while there go right back in to write/produce a new album.
Now here's the rub - if he wants success he should (for now...mind you I don't want anyone to jump here) abandon the dancy pop stuff - or at least pare it down a bit. Since he'd be on tour with Q, record something in that direction...Something that the audience he's singing to (Queen fans) might appreciate a bit more - because honestly in my opinion, the average Queen fan is probably not going to get into Trespassing which might be why Trespassing wasn't helped that much in the UK. After the QAL tour and the money he would get from that, cut a new album and start an AL tour almost immediately. Get some collaborations on the album - have Brian and Roger on a song, get some of his famous friends like Pink, or Bruno on it and work that as one of the singles. Because once he gets that success, he can go back and do all the Trespassing album type songs he wants to do.
Of course schedules would have to mesh as well. And that might be a problem in my Adam plan. I know a few things that are in the works...as in:
a. Brian May and Kerry Ellis is releasing a single soon, Born Free in support of Brian's animal activism and doing a short UK tour in November.
b. Brian and Kerry are working on their second album and I'm sure there will be another more full tour from that.
c. Roger's solo album appears to be coming in a few months (I'd guess early 2013) and there have been mentions that he might do a small tour (most likely UK only)...and maybe he'd be joined by Taylor Hawkins now that Foo Fighters are on hiatus.
d. There will be other Queen (live ?)releases...some rumored to be in spring of 2013.
e. The Freddie film starring Sacha Baron Cohen will be filming next year and I know B & R want to be involved and it might be a soundtrack to supervise.
f. Queen Extravaganza are supposedly going to be doing another tour in 2013....where? Unknown. I highly doubt Queen will want to saturate that market.
So where does that fit in? That would leave me to believe a tour couldn't happen til summer 2013 at the earliest. So maybe I alter the plans a bit and have Adam start writing the new album first and maybe even release an EP or something before the QAL tour and then release the new album at the tail end of the QAL tour and BAM into promotion for the new album.
*shrug* Just a thought off the top of my head
