lol... *squishes you back* seoulmate dahling
I have just spent the most amazing few days with 20+ Adam addicted people on the other side of the ~ditch. This 'Tribe' of Kiwi's has grown into something very, very, VERY special over the last 3 years and the bond, camaderiere, love, respect, team work and joy that this nationwide group has now forged between them is, I believe, unique within the worldwide fandom. Yes, Adam has been the catalyst, but what has now happened is that this group have actually become real life friends. Granted - it is primarily about Adam, but for many within this group, that boundary has been superseded and become something far more than just Adamland centric.
This is what Trudy was trying to say to Adam when she was taken into the radio booth to explain just 'how' Adam had changed her life. Trudy has had problems in her past and his music, along with his awesome self, DID help her and bring her up from a very, very dark precipice. Through that journey she also now has this very real support group of people who love her and look out for her - and she has blossomed because of it. There are also some others within this group, who have been helped because of the strong communal bonding that has grown out of being an Adam fan.
Sorry, I went off on a tangent there :, but I was trying to explain something about why I got sucked DTRH again and desperately wanted to go to these last two OZ concerts. Fuck yeah! it is primarily about Adam - but, for me, it's also about spending time with these special people as a group.
And trust me.... these last few days were, as a group, EPIC. For me personally I just wanted to be able to share it with them and Adam was the *coughs* cherry on top of all the other shades of goodness.
Don't forget, NZ - to date - has had only ONE concert so far and for the majority of Kiwi fans this promo whirlwind and #racebert was their very first opportunity EVER to see Adam live and up close and personal. Very few have had the opportunity to see him multiple times, which is why I have been so blessed to be in a position to do otherwise. I probably shouldn't say this...lol, but for me this last trip was primarily about being with the NZGT and being able to stand back and watch their dreams and hopes become reality.
And trust me, t'was a beautiful thing to behold [/IMG]

HUGE to you hun! Glad you made it home safe & sound!
I have been wanting to write a recap of the past week here but to be honest, I'm not even sure where / how to start..... you summed it up very well tho.... the NZGlitterTribe is an amazing group of people and I am proud to call them my friends. and FRIENDS they are!!! We talked about how if Adam somehow wasn't part of our lives anymore (Heaven forbid ) we would still remain friends.
Also great to see your explanation of why it meant so much to us kiwi fans to have him here for this fly-by promo..... I promise I'll write a recap of our day following him from venue to venue soon! (RL work sux!)
But I will say that the energy, happiness and joy we all felt on that Thursday was something very special and I just KNOW that Adam felt it! One message I really wanted him to get/understand is how many friendships have been made through being his fan -and I don't just mean in NZ but around the world! It really is a global community and I really think Adam knows that and appreciates it!
Almost 11pm now, so off to bed...recap by the end of the week I promise!
