[/IMG]
Orlando is close enough to Tampa! Request!
What about those of us in the East Coast of Florida (Miami, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale) Are we entirely ineligible to contribute requests for SNOL?

Good! I'll do that then. Thought I had to be able to listen especially if they ask. If you tweet them, they won't ask you anything! Many people listen to SNOL online. I listen to it on Z100 online -- even though I am in Ohio. So pick a place you wished you lived! www.saturdaynightonline.com/pages/map.htmlJust do not spam them with Twitter requests. That happened in 2010 with IIHY. For the most part Adam fans are much smarter now.

One of my top Adam pics of all time. This pic and a few others really excited me when I first saw it and realized we were being given the gift of someone who not only had a mind boggling voice but was also willing to dare and go wherever his heart wanted, willing to try it all, and who reveled in breaking out of the boxes, as true artists do. When I saw that he was setting all sides of himself free and went there I simply fell in love. I absolutely could not believe that mainstream America was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to see him on American Idol. How can anyone not fall in love with him? He is a drop dead gorgeous femme fatal in this incredibly hot pic. Love beyond measure that he went there. This pic along with a few others put him on my real deal serious creative artist list. I know there is a lot of pressure on him now to be cool in a safer more pop, more mainstream "acceptable" way. Mainstream acceptance has huge benefits and is easier in a myriad of ways that cannot be underestimated. I do not judge anyone who decides to play it safer. And maybe he has no desire to explore as far but I really hope that he still has the courage to really go there should he want to even in the spotlight because among other things I think the courage to express this kind of freedom excites, intrigues, and pushes everyone to really think about and rethink preconceived notions. Part of what is so great about Adam and pics like this is, here is a really healthy, sociable, loving, down to earth guy and people are forced to think about their comfort zones and fears, what is really so scary about breaking down traditional gender norm behaviors. Really, what is the big deal? Scares some maybe because of their own issues but really is deeply, deeply inspiring. On the other hand I understand there are pressures now, external and internal, that were not there before. He is a wonderful role model for many and he feels a strong responsibility in this position. So, he has a lot more to think about when it comes to public image and presentation. I agree with absolutely everything, Skylar! Coming from the country where any derailment from the socially imposed patterns and approved standards is frowned upon, where homophobia is not only present, but is openly denoted as the thing which endangers the survival of holy Serbian race, I've embraced Adam’s fluidity with love, clutching at it as a drowning (wo)man to a straw. I don't know if Adam wants go there again, Skylar, but I'd like to think he would if he wanted to, regardless of his public image and presentation. I just feel he is on a different path right now, the one which made him express his support for Obama a couple days ago, and the reasons for it. He still plays gorgeous dress-up, though. Quoting here a Russian writer: If you want to be happy, be. It sounds obvious, but it really isn’t. Quoting him again: All happy families resemble one another, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. I completely disagree with this one: I believe that what makes each person happy is individual and so specific, that it is almost rude to compare. Whereas misery always comes from the same source and is basically the same: ignorance and close-mindedness for others and, most importantly, for yourself. Adam’s liberation is his own personal achievement, but it plays a small and essential role in the liberation of others. I appreciate him voicing his political opinion. I followed Barack Obama as a support to my American friends facing an important decision. The impact of their decision will be felt worldwide. US has always been dictating political trends, therefore, human rights trends as well. As it should. So, please, choose right. To end on a more cheerful note: Skylar: We were being given the gift of someone who not only had a mind boggling voice but was also willing to dare and go wherever his heart wanted, willing to try it all, and who reveled in breaking out of the boxes, as true artists do. When I saw that he was setting all sides of himself free and went there I simply fell in love. How can anyone not fall in love with him?Beats me, Skylar.
Great posts - both of you!
aleksandrakv I have a question for you. Since Trespassing debuted at #1 in Slovenia I'm assuming the two countries (although both were once part of Yugoslavia) are vastly different as far as political philosophy and open homophobia. I just returned from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Montenegro. I was with a group that included 6 gay men (2 of whom were married partners). They were treated with respect everywhere we went. Of course I do realize that it's essential that people in the tourist industry and in high tourist regions will be polite and accommodating.

I was just kidding about my DH kicking my sorry ass on the curb, bb, though I'm not quite sure he isn't contemplating it, lol. duh. #dimwittedburrito On topic, but not really. I've been ruminating on why Adam was born in Indianapolis, why the family was there in the first place, why they relocated to San Diego, and how different his life might have been if he'd been raised in the midwest. Would he have made his way to the entertainment world from there? Would he have been a glampire for Halloween? Probably so because you can't change the nature of a scorpion but damn, it would have been a harder row to hoe, I think. (cotton farmer roots showing, sorry) So glad Mom and Pop Lambert relocated to California. We might not have the free, expressive Adam we have now if they hadn't. But wait, maybe nurture HeWhoCannot ameds nature, and he would have been exactly the same. Something to ponder.

So, mys*&@^#r, the nearest station to me is a Top40 Abilene station (220 miles) and so I thought I might tweet them. However, I checked out their site and they are following/are followed by 2 twitter accounts, one of which is SNOL and they have only tweeted 6 times. I am not sure what century this station is actually from. ???
The good news is my tweet would definitely be noticed but YIKES!
Whataya think?

LOL!!! The Steelers (football) just came out in yellow and black striped jerseys. Very Trespassing of them, don't you think? [/IMG] *leaves to ponder if she knows anyone who can cop her a jersey....hmmm.* ETA: Oooh, they have socks, too. Killer Bees for Halloween! ETA2: ok, they claim they are retro uniforms from 1932, however, we know they are promoting Trspassing ;D
