This is sort of off topic, but kind of not. You guys tell me if my thinking is messed up on this or not. Trevor Project has a big event every December. The tickets are outlandishly priced, in the thousands, but it is their one huge benefit for the year. They use this event to honor someone they think has helped the LGBT community. It is called the "Hero Award." This is the 3rd year. Year one it was Kathy Griffin Year two it was Gaga This year it is Katy Perry
Excuse me but am I wrong to kind of think this sucks? If their theme is the "It's Gets Better" one, why are straight females winning this award? And it's not even about Adam for me! What about Chris Coffer, Anderson Cooper, Zachary Quinto, Lance Basss? What about Jane Lynch, Ellen, Portia, Rachel Maddow!!!

Oh! If Europe is included, then I might want one of those DVDs, Leenaseyez. The fact that we're Region 2 when the US is Region 1 is sometimes really annoying. :-/ I don't think these area protected. That is something content owners (like film industry) do to control sales but is not needed. But I would need one master DVD to produce and deliver. But if you buy blank DVDs and record them in the US, don't they end up having the Region 1 Code too? ???

Particularly Gaga, she has helped a lot of people who were in a bad place. BUT I do think there are many LGBT people who deserve it probably more than those allies who have already won. Ellen deserves one of those, for sure. ETA: Ladymaserati,

I don't understand why the LGBT community doesn't want to appreciate the "Hero" from their own community. What's all those winners do to get this award that Chris Coffer, Anderson Cooper, Zachary Quinto, Lance Basss, Jane Lynch, Ellen, Portia, Rachel Maddow don't do? :dunno:

It's nice that straight celebrities support the gay community. But those who are out living their lives (and OUT, living their lives!) honestly and without apology should be recognized as the heroes of the movement. Neil Patrick Harris is another name that could be added to your list.

And a female "gay icon" is fine, for me. But not 3 years in a row. :-/
