I remember Adam self identifying as an agnostic during Idol, but he also mentions his Jewish heritage. I think he is like some Jewish friends I have that are not religious at all, but still feel they are a part of the Jewish cultural family. Way back when, I think it was on the first promo tour in the UK, after the radio interview, Adam was asked to record some sound bites for the future. You know, "I'm Adam Lambert and you are listening to AWET radio," and such. They asked him to say Merry Christmas, and he recorded "Happy Holidays." The DJ asked him to do it again and say Christmas and he responded, "I'm Jewish." So, he definitely identifies that way, at least culturally, if not religiously. As to the question of opera, he mentions studying opera for a year in this Q and A. (At 1:00) I also recall him in some early interview talking about a gig he had pre-Idol where he was a "singing waiter?" Something about walking around the restaurant floor and from time to time breaking into some light opera or some aria. So, yes, he has studied opera and sung it.

[/IMG]
You know, either his pants are really low or his belly button is really high......
That's exactly was I was thinking as well....that is, right after I clicked the arrow a couple of times to make the "video" play. Please tell me I'm not the only one that did that. I love how all roads lead to the GB! [/IMG]

Also, on the red carpet for the premiere of the movie 2012, a reporter asked him if he would ever consider releasing a Christmas album and he responded without hesitation, "I'm a Jew!"
(Although, Adam, I might point out that Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow, among others, have released Christmas albums despite their Jewish heritage, and that if you sang "O Holy Night," I would die, but die happy.)

I remember when Adam was a juror on a competition show for fashion designers???? I only watched that one episode and laughed at how they played up the participant who used a visible zipper and Adam liked it (they knew each other before I think) .... I was "WTF" of course Adam would loooove those pants? Thats cheating!!!!
ETA: It was Project Runway ... I only could find the interviews with Heidi which I didn't like ... couldn't find the part with the zipper ... sorry

4. (half right) Adam's mother is Jewish. He has Jewish heritage but Adam has never described himself as being Jewish and is not a Jew by most commonly used standards. Adam was not raised as a Jew, never regularly attended temple, does not know Hebrew, and was not Bar Mitzahed. He does not attend temple or associate with a Jewish congregation now. (There is no standard for being Jewish so I go with self-identification plus participation. Conservative and Orthodox Jews go by the mother or conversion plus participation.) Just a slight correction, because I NEVER remember shit like this and I have to take advantage of it when when I do ;D--from the Details Magazine interview: "I have no problem telling people, 'You know what? I'm not your babysitter, and I'm not your church,'" he says. "They go, 'Jesus loves you, too.' One time I just blurted out, 'I'm Jewish, okay? I don't need another crucifix! This is not an appropriate gift for me!'" He laughs. "I know people are coming from a good place, but it can be offensive. Like, 'Thank you, I'm not Christian! I don't read that book.'" www.details.com/celebrities-entertainment/cover-stars/200910/american-idol-cover-star-adam-lambert#ixzz2C2nyHfahOn The View, of course, Adam conceded that he wasn't exactly a "nice Jewish boy," because his "dreidel spins the other way." :4OMG: And on at least two other occasions that I can vaguely remember, Adam described himself as a "diet-Jew" and as "Jew-ish" (lol) both of which are consistent with a firm Jewish identity (which is, for agnostic Jews in this country, especially for those outside of the northeast, in large part an identity of "otherness," anyway). As another totally non-believing, non-practicing child of a mixed marriage who was raised to identify firmly as Jewish nonetheless, I well understand that seemingly contradictory status. In my case, however, my mother is not Jewish, so no matter how strongly I identify as Jewish, there are some members of my (Jewish) husband's family who say I don't count (which matters tremendously to some, because, of course, it would mean our unborn children wouldn't be Jewish either ). All of which is just to say, what a mess we humans tend to make of things when we try to sort everyone into neat little boxes. (And isn't that just what Adam's been arguing all along) <---desperate attempt to stay on topic ;D ETA: Poor Q3--I see we are now drowning in examples and arguments in favor of Adam's Jewishness, and I've only added to the deluge. Sorry! I don't really care much either way! But I'll leave it up because I think the Details quote is bad-ass and hilarious. And I think we can all agree, that Jewish or not, Adam is, as far as we're concerned, definitely a Chosen One ;D.
