The pitch in Underneath was lowered... a step? A step and a half? Did someone check?

Underneath is a very, VERY difficult song to sing live. Gotta wait for Cassie to comment, but here's what I thought: The song was lowered. Vocals sounded amazing, but sometimes I thought he sounded a little bit tired. I didn't like the girls, particularly at 1:07. In my opinion, Adam fucked up a bit in 1:29... lol But 1:31 was amazing. I loved it. [/IMG]
Okay, my opinions. FWIW. Underneath is a song in progress. We know that it takes Adam several performances of a song before it really sits within his body and voice. At this point, I think he is still playing with it, figuring out what works for him and the audience. Yes, at 1:29 he was unsure of exactly where he wanted the melody to go, but he found the slot a couple of seconds later, didn't he? From the first seconds of listening, something sounded different in the tone of his voice. I'm still trying to figure out what it is, much less how to explain it. The ring is still there, but there is also something darker in the tone or timbre. Like he is accessing a different resonance in his body that is more like a baritone's. It's got a bit more weight or heft. Sorry, I can't explain it better. It is something I can feel in my own body; like he is opening up an additional chamber in his chest for more depth. While I love the studio version, I thought that the electronics and instrumentation got a little too blustery towards the latter half of the song. For that reason, I prefer this stripped back version. But, the VJJs have to go back to rehearsal. Not good. Not on pitch. Murky. Hope we get a better video of the whole song. It is something I want to listen to more closely. Give him a few more performances and I predict there will not be a dry eye in the audience.

I wish we had a video of the whole song too... :-/ And yeah, I didn't like the VJJs at all. Love your posts.
