A few more thoughts on the concert. When Adam finished Underneath, I found it very telling that he didn't even crack one of his smiles. I think he really got a little bit emotional towards the end of the song. The emotion is also kind of apparent in his breathing.
That Fame-Strut-Fever video is amazing, seriously. I can't stop watching that part. So fucking hot, all of it! That scale in Fame! Adam playing with the dancers! The vocal perfection of Fever! Did you all see the security guard when Adam hit the high note in Fever?

In the Shady video, Adam actually stops and says: "I wanna hear my girls!" Do you think they were having sound trouble again?
And those scat improvisations, OMG, I love him...
I read
Aleks' post yesterday (I loved your recap, bb, you're a poet!), and I wanted to comment on what she said about perfection.
Is there a perfect live performance?
I don't think it exists. Unless you're one of those autotuned artists, then your "live" playback will sound completely perfect... :
That lack of perfection is exactly what makes live performances so valuable to me, they are LIVE! Plus, there are artists who come very near perfection when they sing live, and Adam is one of those. You hear other people, and then you hear Adam, and the difference is abysmal. Because Adam is very capable to give us almost flawless performances, which is something pretty rare! So, knowing that, to me pointing out little imperfections isn't like dissing Adam or thinking less about who he is as an artist and as a live performer. I get surprised when some people get defensive if you say: "Hey, that note sounded a little bit flat!" Saying it sounded flat isn't like saying: "Ha, he's not as good as I thought!", or "Damn, he spoiled the performance with that note." Not at all! Those are just honest observations which come from a good place, from the great admiration we all share about this artist. He always gives us the best, and we know it. I would NEVER diss Adam over his live performances, how could I? He's one of the best live artists I've ever seen.
And that's all I wanted to say. I kinda NEEDED to say this, after reading a handful of posts from Tuesday to today which implied that some people weren't happy about what I and other Atopers had said about this or that performance. This is something I needed to get out of my chest because I was feeling pretty bad over it, that's all. I hope no one takes it personally or get offended, that isn't my intention. :-/
Uh... yeah, and sorry for the rant. [img src="

I see someone has been giving you hard time for discussing Adam's pitch - not me, love, not me :D... Maybe, if I had a clue about it, I might have joined the convo
I could discuss Adam pitching tents, though... that'd be my cup of tea 8-)
And if my death threats to
Ngl and
Teddy freaked you out - that's just our kink, bb... one of many, one of many... ;D
No reason for you to feel bad, bb, at all, is what I mean

The problem with discussing Adam's vocals, IMO, is there isn't one single good You Tube out there from this show. And the first few that came in, the night of, were BAD!! Really bad!
As a matter of fact, we all know, no piece of sound equipment has yet to "capture" the beauty, purity, and essence of Adam's vocals. In 3 1/2 years, I have yet to hear anything that sounds like he does live. Even the CDs don't!
So, for me (for you) unless one is in the audience, any critiques are null and void!
If you weren't there, you ain't hearing what he sang!
