[/IMG] but that 7 octave even just touch it not actually sing it still creep the hell out of me
No need to get creeped out. They are full of sh*t. 7 octaves is like most of a grand piano. There are two or three keys on there that I can't even properly hear, in the sense of being able to really differentiate. Even Mariah can only do the 5 octaves because she is counting whistle register and to me those are mouse squeaks and it's not singing, imo. Hence my earlier question. Tbh, 7 octaves, I doubt even if you include all whistles, squeaks and grunts. So, don't worry, your perception of what is possible is probably right. Btw, I have also read online all kinds of nonsense about Adam's range and believe me, you get lynched if you step in such a vocal range fantasy-feast and try to bring some reality into the conversation. People don't have the knowledge to know what a normal range is, so they think you are saying something against Adam. It's just silly. There are other such topics where people tend to misjudge what is humanly possible or overestimate their own abilities too. i.e. Ask 100 people on how long they can hold their breath under water. The most common answer you get is 1 minute - 2 minutes. Ever tried that? Good luck! Or - How long can you stand on one leg with your eyes shut? In that sense my 20 languages example was actually not a good one, because there actually are people who can speak 20 languages (and not just hello, but real conversations), and there are people who have learned to hold their breaths very long, whereas I don't think that anyone can sing 7 octaves. Here is one example of the Guinness Book of World Records holder. This guy presumably squeaked something and so now he is registered there with a 6 octave range, for what that's worth. Another Adam L. in the singing biz, just what we needed.
Thank you. This stuff about 6 and 7 octave singing ranges is utter nonsense, IMO. As Adam said, "But does it SOUND good?" Having a freaky ability to produce a sound in the range of bird tweets may impress some folks, but, it just hurts my ears. I played the YT out of curiosity, and when the guy hit those "notes", or rather whistle tones my dogs all went crazy. Even they couldn't tolerate it. I much prefer talking about "usable" singing range. Where you can hit a note on pitch, sustain it, and actually maybe sing a word on it. Adam's USABLE range is remarkable, to be sure. But, we have only heard him sing slightly over three octaves. Most folks can only sing about half that, and classical singers are happy with slightly over two octaves of solid, usable notes. To me, tho', Adam's range, tho' very impressive, is not what makes him an extraordinary singer. It is the tonal quality of his voice. The purity, clarity, resonance, ring and effortlessness of the sound. Plus his ability to sing from very light and lilting, to intensely powerful without losing the other qualities in his voice. Finally, Adam is a great interpreter of music, expressing emotions that grab at the listener and draw them in. That is what makes him great, not the fact that he can sing a Bb5. IMO.

I am so glad we got videos from CT because they have been few & far between from JoBurg! When the stream didn't work out I consoled myself with the thought that THERE WILL BE VIDS! But now I know of only three. Four really, but the IIHY one is shaky & not the best quality. I'm waiting for a better version because the screaming crowd when he comes on stage is so moving!
I know I sound entitled. but this was such a special show. And there seemed to be tons of people with cameras. So where's the "stuff"? LOL
nina - I do the clap at home too! In fact I do it when I'm doing my walk. People think I'm nuts - so what?
lambosessed has transferred the "clap" into a whatdoyacallit? A Picture/sign (check out "bertwear" at adamlambertobsession.blogspot.co.at/"And he put it on T-shirts and passenger bags (which I ordered) .... so now I wear it every day. lemmegocheck if I can get it on here .... ETA: Lambosessed, I know you are lurking here ... I really hate your website .... it is soooo huge, loads sooooo slow ... it always kills my poor laptop. The only way I can order your gorgeous designs is from my office computer (hopefully noone ever finds out) SO .... Sorry cant show you guys the "clap sign" which I think is really great ... stomp .. clap..clap.clap.clap I'm guessing you meant this one: There were also several different shirt options (with both long and short sleeves). I like the design of the print. It's clearly a Trespassing shirt but it's done in a classy way. Damn, now I want to buy it! ;D
