Posted: Sat Oct 16, 2010 5:07 amOK, I survived but let it be said that I
never go into the shallow end without a scientific calculator and a f**king ruler.
If you will remember, it was observed that the GB or perhaps a "python" was in evidence during IIHY in Malaysia. I hypothesized that the effect in Adam's trousers could be due to a fold in the pant material alone, with no other forces acting on it.
First of all, you probably know this, but there are TWO different vest and legging outfits; one where the vest is WITH vertical blue trim to the left of the buttons and one where it is WITHOUT vertical trim to the left. In order to correctly apply scientific method it was necessary to control all variables, therefore I had to find and compare the same outfit as Malaysia ..... WITH blue trim. This necessitated viewing IIHY vids from multiple countries. I was spared from becoming a drooling mess because I need only observe the vest for my initial pass, however one more chest pop and I might have lost an eye.
To continue, I had to go all the way past Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo x 3, Osaka, and Nagoya before Adam was spotted again attired in the blue trim vest. Such is my dedication to the scientific method that I was forced, forced I tell you, to watch vids until Singapore - no apples and oranges for me.
Below you will see screen caps taken from the Singapore and Malaysian concerts at the same point in IIHY, "It don't mean a thing toniiiiiiiight" where Adam stands straight with legs together and left arm outstretched.
SINGAPORE..............................................................
MALAYSIANote the exhibit labelled Singapore, there is indeed a fold in the trouser that extends along the axis A at an 11.3 degree angle to the horizontal and another fold which extends along the B axis at 60.2 degrees, making the angle between the folds 48.9 degrees. The fold on B starts at a point above A and ends at the intersection of B and A or point C.
Now observe the exhibit labelled Malaysia. Here the same fold is evident along the A-axis, however this time it is horizontal and another fold B is also observed at an angle 80.0 degrees. The angle between A and B is therefore 80.0 degrees indicating an increased pull on the cloth. Furthermore, the fold B continues down the subject's leg WELL PAST the intersection of the two folds at point C.
There can be only one conclusion. My hypothesis was wrong and Q3's was correct, "Singing/performing for large crowd = oxygenated blood + release of endorphins + adrenalin = GB" . The Glambulge indeed made another appearance in Malaysia,
QED
As a final side note and possible application of my research, I determined that the blue trimmed vest has a narrower opening across the chest and so I surmise that this particular outfit was chosen for Malaysia for it's increased modesty.
