Just popping in to say Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating! I am thankful for so much that I coudn't begin to make a list ... but on that list would be Adam Lambert and Q3 and all of you who make this such a fun, exciting, insightful place!

Exactly !! actually , if you look at past VH1 divas-es on Wikipedia , you'll see that there are a least 15 performers . And , I like Pitbull . Hehe !!!!! The more main stream performers Adam meets the better. Can you see a colaboration in the future? I for one hope not. I don't care for rap or rap duets.

This is the only contribution I bring to my family's annual Thanksgiving table, my specialty --- Pineapple Upside-Down Rum Cake! My hubby is the family chef, I'm more like a soup chef. ;D
Oh, this time I added some rum soaked white raisins in the batter, never done that before wonder how it would turn out....(maybe extra tipsy )
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to all who celebrate and who celebrate its spirit!

Yeah yeah, US-Atopians ... just go on and have fun with your loved ones and families, go splurge yourselves, forget all about us poor starving foreigners ... I'll just go drown myself in the rabbit hole ;D
Can't remember such a short thread at this hour, but you just go ahead, be thankful and celebrate. See if you'll ever hear from me bc I might get stuck forever down there :twist:
Actually I really liked Eber's tweet: Miles Tougeauxþ@milestougeaux Drunken Gluttony Day 1: Season the bird, dressing prep, whiskey for the folks, vodka for the in_laws. Chef observes the 2 Martini rule,
Happy Thanksgiving/Turkeykill everyone!!! (yep, liked TJs tweet as well 8-))

Aleksandra and all our foreign friends --
I always think that Thanksgiving is an interesting holiday here in the US because it is one of our few truly NATIONAL holidays and the one that is celebrated by the most people traveling to be with one another. Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year. I have been lucky to be part of a variety of Thanksgiving dinners, from the traditional dinner with the family to dinner with a few friends along with a bunch of strangers. One of the most memorable of the "friends and strangers" Thanksgivings was when I visited a friend who had dinner with a bunch of her work colleagues (none could go home to the family). We had food from a variety of cultures, including the BEST homemade ravioli in meat sauce ever. The man who brought it said it was his Italian grandmother's recipe. We also had mini stuffed pumpkins and some really unusual stuffing that I can't remember much about except that it was good.
This is all to say that the US is so diverse that we have very few days where the entire country celebrates together, and this is one of them. Of course, I know a couple of people who just stay home by themselves, too (there are always a few). It would be interesting to do a study sometime on the food our diverse culture prepares for Thanksgiving dinner. It would be fascinating (to say the least!).
Of course, in our country Thanksgiving day is followed by "Black Friday" -- the biggest shopping day of the year. I just stay far away from that craziness. On TV they have been showing people who have been camping out in front of some stores for 2-3 days already so they can get a 40" TV for half-price. Wow. Lots of people buy into the commercialization of holidays here, but I continue to fight against it.
Blessings and good thoughts to all Atopians around the world! Have a great day whatever you do! Now it's off to check my mom's birthday cake (her birthday is on Thanksgiving this year). So we get pie and cake today! Woo-hoo!
