Well, I think it is lovely that Adam has brought together so many different people with different musical tastes. We aren't all required to like the same music.

Well, my name is Rip because I'd never heard of Lenny until he was brought up on Atop. I haven't listened to radio or kept up with popular music for decades before Adam. I think it's great for people like me to have learned a lot on Atop, and I've have appreciated the many discussions here by people more knowledgeable than I. Not all of us have been fans of the same styles of music. There are, however, many other subjects on which I am an expert. 8-) I guess I'm a trespasser into the world of popular music. I often wonder if it's a generational thing but then I think it might be something else because I'm familiar with many styles of music and cultural references from many many decades before I was born. I think it's really cool that Adam has opened up people to the world of popular music and I hope people are genuinely giving it a chance because that is where Adam wants to be. I too know lots about music from before my generation was young. It's the stuff from my 20's and on that is fuzzy. I find that many young people (late teens to 30s) know an incredible amount about past rock/pop, especially from the 60s and 70s. I often wonder if it's because they find much current music not as interesting and search other decades (especially those of their parents) for enjoyment. Just guessing here. My 29-year-old nephew had almost nothing but classic rock played at his wedding dance.

I was getting ready to comment on the two stereotyping posts and I see they have been deleted....so never mind. I appreciate the many genres of music that Adam has tweeted us and I enjoy all the informative discussions people here have about the different styles of music. Some of the music Adam post I like and some....not so much but I glad I was introduced to all of it.
