Very few theatres have recording policies - is the artist or more usually artist management that sets up what they will and won't allow. Security are just doing what they are instructed to do, they are not trying to be asses, just trying to honor the wishes of the people who pay them! My other half who runs security at venues hates it when artists say they don't want filming or photography because he knows he and his staff are in for a shit night arguing with people and confiscating cameras because people think it's their "right" to film no matter what the conditions on the ticket and posted in the venue are. So next time you are asked to stop filming by security be nice and do as they ask. They aren't being assholes they are just trying to do their job. Hey bridgeymah...I'm sure your hubby does a great job too...just that there are "ways and ways" on telling people what to do... and some people seem to be unpleasant from the get go. I think most of us try to be nice and comply most of the time...  I am sure everyone here is nice as pie and doesn't pout or argue when security asks. When contemplating ways and ways to tell people what to do keep in mind you are probably the 10th or 20th person (or more) who they have had to tell to stop doing something that shouldn't be doing in first place... challenge anyone to do that and put up with arguments and outright being ignored and stay pleasant... is a huge exercise in restraint that I know I wouldn't be up to. |
