Was reading Cyndi Lauper's wikipedia page and saw this:
In 1977, Lauper damaged her vocal cords and took a year off. She was told by three doctors that she would never sing again. Vocal coach Katie Agresta helped Lauper regain her voice by teaching her proper vocal exercises.
So it's pretty amazing that she is still able to sing.

Thanks for bringing all the goodies over, pi!  Mad World was such a brilliant and perfect song choice for this event, considering whom this concert was dedicated to and benefiting. |

It was less about the sound and more about the creation of that kind of moment. The iconic one held her hand out in love to Adam. It was a pssing of the torch moment really. Some of the golden ones, Queen, Meatloaf, Lauper, Boy George Elton they love Adam because they see his greatness. |

Agree with comment that is about the place in time not so much how perfect the sound - for me performance is the totality - am sure had I been there live would have had goosebumps. |
