Think I'll stick with Sauerkraut which is also low calorie but not hot!! Ooh sauerkraut, that's a great idea! I'll have to add that to my diet foods list!

I forgot to weigh in today so at this point I'll wait and do it in the AM.
my workout gear consists of: walking shoes pedometer 3 lb hand weights and, as of today, snow shovel :D
juniemoon, I put oatmeal and walnuts in my smoothies so they have some extra staying power. sometimes I add a spoonful of protein powder and/or cashew butter.
love those smileys chapf! ;D

Well I was disappointed on my weigh in. Two days ago I was down 2 and yet this morning I wasn't down any. /o\ grrr. Watch and when I weigh in tomorrow it will change again.
Lol you guys. You'all hardly have any gear. I have 15 items sitting in my living room and I'm not counting stuff in the garage, closets, under the bed, videos. I really don't have any excuse. pffft!
Made a smoothie yesterday with cantelope leftovers along with the usual almond milk, banana, strawberries, kale. I added some pomegranite seeds. I won't do that again, they do not chop up. It always makes so much to me even with just one cup of milk and it got "soggy" at the end. Fixed that by freezing the extra in a muffin pan then this morning ran some hot water to sit the muffin pan in and scooped out my frozed ice cubes. Into the blender with more almond milk and just as good the 2nd day.

Thursday - Jogging in Place
It's cold in my neck of the woods and even though they say not to exercise before bed because it keeps you awake. I don't find that to be true. Job in place and get the blood moving so that you aren't freezing when you go to bed. Works during the day too.

CHECKING IN: down .4 kilo >> loss to date 1 kilo (2.2 lbs ) It's not a big drop, but going down is GOOD --- \o/ By the way chapf your kimchee smiley tasters are hilarious, I agree with them, too hot for me ! I have been blessed with a bountiful organic garden (herbs, veggies, fruit trees), some happy free range chooks (aussie for chickens) and a wonderful gardener (my husband) .. so my biggest task is keeping up with the excess produce. I spent last weekend brewing and freezing a large amount of eggplant/garlic/chilli sauce and freezing bags of fresh corn niblets. The subtropical climate I'm in also lets us grow greens (like lettuce, asian greens, kale, chard) and tomatoes year round, so that's why I didn't answer the lettuce storage questions you asked jablea, as we only pick when needed for daily salads. As far as exercise equipment, there is a treadmill in the house but I don't like using it. This time of year it's all about water aerobics for me . I'm still following-ish the aqua aerobics program mapped out last summer for me by a physio. The pool aides are a paddle board, foam "noodles" and foam hand weights. I find the pool work is so easy and when done with a mixture of aerobic, stretching and resistance, can be a fun all round way to fitness.

checking in...a day late... I'm down another lb this week, so 8 to go!
tip: I got a cuisinart hand-held blender for xmas and it's such a fun toy. it works better than my blender on smoothies, and it's great for soups too. I've been experimenting with various vegetable soups that are easy, healthy, low-cal and delicious.

Well, I wrote a big long-ass post yesterday, but can't find it so don't know what happened!
Anyway, I would like to join you ladies. I have at least 50 lbs. to lose. Have had to for quite a few years now, but I'll lose a few and then put it all back on. Next year Feb. I hit the big 60, so I figure it's now or never as it's only going to get harder.
I actually did start last week, but then I got the flu/cold. So the first few pounds actually came off without really trying as I didn't have much appetite for several days. When I weighed in yesterday I had lost 3-4 lbs. so I'll take that as an encouraging start.
I'm not actually "dieting" as that doesn't seem to work for me, plus I don't do the cooking at home, so don't have any control over that. So I'll be working on cutting down portions and cutting out the snacking, especially the sweet stuff, as I have a real sweet tooth.
Excercise is rather a problem as I do have back issues and also a sprained ankle. I sprained it 5 months ago and it's still interfering with me walking 3-4 times a week, as it starts to ache pretty quickly. So I will do what I can, and welcome the support and encouragement to stick to it, as this will be a long weight loss period.

Dang scales. If I'd weighed in this morning I would have been down another 3 instead of zip. I must be dealing with water weight gain/loss.
Welcome fiercelier. I too hate it when posts disappear in never never land. Welcome to the club. So who does do the cooking at home and do they give you a variety of choice so that you can weight your plate in favor of certain items? Unfortunetly I'm not good at providing variety for the meals I cook, I tend to be meal in a pan chef which isn't good.
Sprained ankles are a pain. Did they give you any specific strengthening exercises for it?
flowergirlLet us know what you come up with for your handheld blender. I haven't figured out what to use mine for yet.
