Friday - Recumbent Exercise BikeI got one last year just in time for the Shape up 2012 and if there was one big piece of exercise equipment I'd recommend for those who have room or the inclination, this is it. It will fit nicely in a very small corner or behind a love seat and it is the one thing I've actually used where I can count the time working out in the hours and hours column. You can watch TV, read a book on your tablet or phone, do arm exercises with weights or bands, and it's quiet enough to do in the middle of the night without waking the family. Here is my alter ego on the same Marcy brand I got at Fred Meyer. Ok, so I kindof promised to list some of the exercise equipment I have, so here's most of it: #don'tjudge Recumbent bike Wii Stepper Regular Stepper Hand Weights - 4 sizes (2,3,5,10 pounds) Ankle Weights - adjustable weights Yoga Mat Foam Roller Pilates Circle Manual treadmill Fitness Disc Ab Lounge Fitness ball - the one you sit on Wave Rocker Bands Thigh Master Chin up bar for door Total Gym Cross Bow Flex Manual Eliptical And of course a wide assortment of regular bikes, balls, rackets etc. Yeah, kind of reminds me of one of my yard sales where somebody asked if I had run a daycare. Nope just one kid. Now at least a third of those are recycled from the thrift store and more than a few are earning their early retirement in the loneliness of the garage or closet. #ifonlyequipmentcouldloseweightforyou

Thanks for the welcome Jablea. DH does the cooking so I've told him I'll be eating less of everything, but trying to make the vegetables the larger part of the meal, and cutting back on potatoes and meat.
No specific exercises for my ankle. I did talk to my physiotherapist today, where I go regularly for other issues, and he's very surprised that the ankle is still bothering me. He can't find any specific issue with it, but wonders if some cartilege was broken giving me the continued grief with it. Your recumbent bike looks real cool!

Saturday - Cucumber Sauce & Pineapple Smoothies
These are a few of my favorite things at the Pad Thai house that we visited tonight. I've got to figure out how to make or buy the Cucumber sauce and I'm hoping I can figure out the Pineapple smoothie mixture. I'm thinking almond milk and pineapple but how to get the slushy part?

Don't cut down on the meat too much. Need that protein! It is better to lose slowly.

Well, I bought some Kale and wondering what might be good with it. I usually put it in soups and salads, but not smoothies. Thinking that almond milk, frozen blueberries and kale might be okay. Maybe a little lemon or OJ and a little honey and stevia. Any suggestions?

ahhh, chappy, wub you too.
stardust, my almond milk has been quite sweet without adding much. I haven't done the blueberries just by themselves yet, I'm adding them in with strawberries for the first time tomorrow. I've just thrown a handful of the kale in before the frozen stuff as it's what doesn't get pureed as fine as everything else. I, per usual, bought way too big of a bag of kale so next time I have to figure out if it can be frozen too. I threw some in a sloppy joe mix the other night, worked good.

Sunday - Stairs
Any stairs will do for stair climbing, going down is the hard part. Today I went to an RV show and so to see all of the fancy interiors of the motor homes, 5th wheels, and regular ol' travel trailers that means stair climbing. I reckon I went in almost a 100 RVs and all with 3 or 4 steps so let's say 300 steps up and 300 down. That's like doing a 10 step staircase 30 times. No wonder my knees were hurting by the end.
