Ignoring bad behavior is a time tested way to help extinguish it, but I think in the case of this latest tweet-gate a a few well written, polite and knowledgeable responses from Adam's fans served a purpose. Because these articles were about a current and popular movie, [ b]some readers might have just been reading because they were interested in the movie without knowing anything at all about Adam. If all they saw were pages and pages of how Adam screamed, was irrelevant, was a failure etc. they could certainly get a negative idea of him as an artist and a person. On the other hand, a positive reply numerating his accomplishment, talking about his vocal strength, recommending youtubes and so on, might encourage some to investigate him. He might even get a few new fans. Yesterday one poster said that he had listened to CTMBTM because someone had mentioned it in the comment section, and came back blown away. I realize this might have just been a ploy of a clever fan, but it sure sounded nice. Welcome col it is great to have you. I love how international this site is. Global star indeed! I agree completely! There are several random people just checking the story because of an interesting headline. Because the articles never include Adam's works in their story, I love it when I read fan comments that let random site visitors to know more about Adam. I never answer to angry haters, just post my own individual comment with a mention about Queen (and in this case about Brigadoon and BTMCTM). Imo it isn't useless at all. If the reader is a stage fan, he can not but be hooked on CTMBTM. And he will stay Adam fan forever ... waiting for him to sing again well-loved broadway hits. If he is into opera - I would recommend The Show Must Go On. One has to hear it many times -- and each time loving it more. |
