A Glambert who is also a big sister of mine tried to stand closer to the car which Adam was in. However, the crowd was crazy so they quickly ran to another side of the car. Guess what they saw? ADAM! Adam was sitting in the car, right in front of them! They knocked on the car window and called Adam's name, but Adam couldn't hear or see them. But then, it was time for miracle! The car driver open the car window, yelling "Stop knocking!". Suddenly, Sauli, who was sitting next to Adam, heard everything. He waved and smiled at them. Furthermore, he told Adam to turn around. Guess what? ADAM TURNED AROUND! He also smiled and waved at the happy Glamberts. That moment melted every heart.

My movie review has gone viral. U can spend a whole year praising artists for inspiring work, but one critique gets all the attention. Funny

Those raw and real moments when characters broke down or were expressing the ugliness of the human condition were superb. However...

My personal opinion: there were times when the vocals weren't able to convey the power, beauty and grace that the score ALSO calls for.

I guess I'm a purist for the original LIVE broadway recording when the actors sang the f*ck outta those songs. JUST an opinion...

I should prob stop fanning the flames on this one..but i love a good debate- couldnt help myself.

One last thing though: Anne Hathaway was so good- had me tearing up. Oscar worthy performance for sure! Ok. #donediscussinglesmiz

Interview US singer enjoys Bali, delights in his music

The Mulia Bali decided to explode onto Bali’s entertainment scene for its first New Year’s Eve celebration with a coup — Adam Lambert’s first Indonesian performance at the Mulia Resort’s Grand Ballroom.

Prior to the New Year celebrations, I was privileged to meet Adam Lambert and chat a while about his success, his aspirations and try to understand a little more about what he is all about.

I had no idea what to expect; after all he recently out-diva’d the divas on VH1 Divas 2012, where he not only was the first male to host the show but also performed three times. Just prior to that, he had toured selected venues in Europe with Queen as their singer. And that was just 2012.

Since being runner up in the 2009 American Idol, Lambert has released two chart-topping albums and been nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Pop Performance. Not bad for someone who decided that being an understudy in musical theater was no longer satisfying enough.

Back to the present day, and he breezed into ZJ’s Bar and Lounge, greeting everyone warmly and settled down to talk.

Lambert has been to Bali before, for a few days’ vacation to recuperate after a period of hard and intense work. “I love Bali, it’s a very relaxing place. The nature is so beautiful and the people warm and genuine.” Clearly he was delighted to be asked back to perform.

“We’re all very excited to perform exclusively here. It’ll be really nice to be able to see the audience and interact with them; it’ll be a real party.” He’d seen the ballroom, he said and thought it very intimate for a concert, while finding the hotel amazing. “I can’t believe the facilities. It’s a great way to bring in the New Year.”

I asked Lambert what the last four years had been like. A crazy, really wild adventure was the reply. “It’s been amazing. Getting on stage is the best part, and being in the studio. The creativity is what makes me the happiest. Then, of course, there’s the shopping for the outfits!”

Despite being signed to a huge record label, Lambert styles himself, picking his own clothes for the most part, except when there’s a big project requiring a lot of changes, which is when he’s glad to be helped by the stylists. “I have a lot of influence on my image; when I sit and talk it’s just me. I think where the compromise comes in is the actual music, the product. When it comes to albums, music videos, we work together.”

“I like that I get to perform, to create — there’s the videos, the concepts, the album art; it’s fun, very cool.”

Lambert described his first album as being more about his ideas, while Trespassing, his second album, was more about who he is. He got to co-write some of the songs, be involved with the album art, as well as the music videos. “I feel like I’m representing people who are a little bit different from normal, people who are trying to maintain an identity that doesn’t necessarily go along with everything in the mainstream, a bit to the left. I hope that that comes across in my music.”

Lambert is also making use of his fame supporting philanthropic causes, raising funds to build a well in Africa to supply clean water, while also supporting the performing arts in public schools in the US. “It [the arts] helped me with my belonging and my identity.”

The adulation he meets with everywhere is flattering, he says, although he still finds it incredible. “I used to be insecure, uncomfortable in my own skin, searching for identity and belonging.” Lambert keeps people around him who are “honest and real” to ensure he keeps the adoration in its place and stays grounded. “The journey is part of what makes it what it is, it’s the learning and growing and tripping.”

“It’s fun. It’s so much fun,” he says in closing.

I left the interview impressed. Despite all the success, Lambert seems very genuine, at ease with himself and infectiously delighted with his opportunity to do what he loves. His fun with artistic exploration is reflected in his performances, his song choices, his outfits and his joy in life. His New Year’s Eve concert in Bali was electrifying and I was delighted to be there. I wish him all the best for 2013 and beyond.
