I completely agree that an artist does not need to be a commercial or radio success to tour. See Allen, Kris. But just to play devils advocate, the lack of Trespassing's commercial success is the reason for no US tour...because if it HAD been the commercial success it should have been, there wouldnt be as much of a need to get back into the studio right now! (and yeah, no way is Adam going to do a bar circuit "tour".) I agree that Adam needs to get new music out and that precludes a tour in the US, but if he wanted to tour, there are promoters who are ready to bank that tour. Regarding touring -- there are many examples of huge successful touring acts that had little to no airplay. Phish, #11 of 2012: Dave Mathews, one of the top Summer 2012 tours - Radiohead, #18 of 2012: Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Then there are cult acts like Flaming Lips that fill mid-sized venues night after night. But Dave Matthews and Radiohead are practically industry icons---neither would have to sell another record; their legacies are made. They are beyond worrying about airplay and trying to expand their fanbases. Adam is at a completely different place in his career. And, yes, he could tour at some capacity, but the question for his team is whether or not a tour makes sense right now. Sometimes I think people forget just how successful FYE was. Forget Platinum, that album stayed on the BB 200 for a year. Amazing.

Not funny, not funny at all (that Radtke thing). Or I just don't have a sense of morbid humour.

Not funny, not funny at all (that Radtke thing). Or I just don't have a sense of morbid humour. I don't think it is funny either. It is still his current album, it is still for sale, I am sure it is still selling. Some international countries are just getting it! I hope that wasn't sent to Adam!! :-/

Well, if you look at the stageit wiki, there are artists who are on there who are bigger names than Adam, e.g. Jason Mraz, Bonnie Raitt, Sara Baraeilles, Matt Nathanson, Jimmy Buffett, John Oates, etc. And the state fair, wasn't that free to anyone who paid to go to the fair? I am not sure he could have filled that venue if tickets were $50+ a pop. And Adam could charge anything he wanted. I think with his world-wide fan base, people would pay it. And I was kidding about the underwear, hence the ;D The free seats were in a designated area. It wasn't the floor or the first level. Reserved was around $35. Can't find my receipt but I bought Susie's ticket and I think that was what she paypaled me. When I say 6K. I am not even counting the free seats. Matt Nathanson opened for Kelly Clarkson. When did he get bigger than Adam? Huh? ETA: Just checked Matt's wiki, definitely not bigger than Adam. He is the typical songwriter, ala Kris Allen. h He is making a living at his music but doubt he could fill 6K or even 4K venues by himself. That being said, I saw him with Kelly and he was very good! I thought he was new though. Had NO idea he has made 11 albums and is almost 40!! Also, Kris toured with Jason and they were having trouble filling their venues. But, I still hear Matt fairly often on the radio in Chicago. I can't say that for Adam, sadly. And he is definitely bigger than Kris Allen.
