No. Commercial success of Trespassing has little to do with a tour, really, it doesn't! There are artists with way less commercial success than Adam who are touring. If it did, he would not have been able to fill Winstar, Costa Mesa, Wilkes Barre, or Phoenix venues. He can do venues of 2-4K easily. (WB and CM were even larger, 6,000+) I think he and RCA want to get right back into the studio to record album #3. He has already filled good mid-sized venues in the US. Selling seats is not a problem. All my joking aside about Canada and N. Dakota, I do think he will do one offs. Probably some summer shows at fairs & a few casinos. He will want his band to be able to make money. Yes, seems commercial success has nothing to do with it. Kris Allen is touring right now and he sold way less than Adam. Of course his venues are smaller, but still. ETA: Just remembered that Kris doesn't have a record label so he isn't in any hurry to release his third album. That's probably why he is able to tour. Sorry for spamming, and truly no knock on Kris cause I am an all Idol fan (except Constantine) but Playing clubs with capacities of 100 to 200 is not "touring". It is playing the club circuit. You make no money. It is a bad life. Adam made more than this before Idol. No no no no no. I would rather see Adam with a Vegas show then be in clubs again. Note: I write this as a reformed performer who actually played clubs when the world was young. It was bad then, it is worse now.

Well, if you look at the stageit wiki, there are artists who are on there who are bigger names than Adam, e.g. Jason Mraz, Bonnie Raitt, Sara Baraeilles, Matt Nathanson, Jimmy Buffett, John Oates, etc. And the state fair, wasn't that free to anyone who paid to go to the fair? I am not sure he could have filled that venue if tickets were $50+ a pop. And Adam could charge anything he wanted. I think with his world-wide fan base, people would pay it. And I was kidding about the underwear, hence the ;D Did you go to Phoenix? The free seats were in a designated area. It wasn't the floor or the first level. When I say 6K. I am not even counting the free seats. Matt Nathanson opened for Kelly Clarkson. When did he get bigger than Adam? Huh? I didn't go to Phoenix, but I did go Fantasy Springs and there were a lot of empty seats (I was on the floor and there were big sections of just empty chairs). I had extra tickets and couldn't sell them and I met a lot of people outside the venue trying to sell tickets but couldn't. What is the capacity, around 4K? And although not an Adam-only concert, I went to the Warfield in SF, there were only three performers and there were tons of empty seats for Adam's set. I stayed for One Republic, and at that point, all the seats filled up. I don't think the place was sold out. So although I know Adam can fill up venues, I just don't think he could at the scale he did for Glam Nation. As for Matt, I kept seeing his name and assumed he was famous but I guess not. Just looked on his wiki and he had a lot of songs featured on TV shows had one single that sold 1.8 million. On a related note, there are people that sell more records than Adam but might not be able to fill up a venue as well as him. Gavin DeGraw, for example, didn't his tour with David Cook not do so well? Also, Jordin Sparks.

LOL again...... do you realize how large Western Canada is? British Columbia alone is 200,000 sq. miles larger than California! Easy enough for people that live in Vancouver to travel to Seattle, but Vancouver is NOT western Canada. Well so is Montana, Wyoming, and their surrounding states. Not sending him there either. Picking large popuation centers! Next you'll want him going to North Dakota! [/IMG] We can take out Seattle & put Vancouver in though.
WUT??? I come on the thread all innocent and everything after last night's bash, and Adam is NOT coming to Montana????? WUT??? Oh, shit, I had a town parade planned too. And I GREW UP in North Dakota..ahem...no kitties for you for awhile, Mys*&@^#r..Uh uh...nope. The $$$'s go next... Now I have to cancel the parade...all those crepe paper streamers down the tubes....

I'm going back to DonorsChoose.org So many classes need musical instruments - the basic 'recorders' - and sheet music, stands . . . basic stuff. Without music in my life, in those middle school and high school years, I would have been without direction or hope. So, this is where my donation for Adam's 31st birthday will go. It will not only honor Adam; it will remind me of the lifeline the music room became to me, when I wondered if all was lost.
We can be in the everywhere.
Those of us who donate, anywhere, might leave a footnote about Adam, and then maybe tweet him about what we are doing. Many messages from many of us; telling him of the inspiration, the awakening, the desire to pass our good fortune forward. Maybe he will receive 31,000 messages about our commitment to making the world a better place - each of us, in our own way.
If we can't donate money, we can always pass forward a good thought; an inspirational note to someone in need.
Giving is so easy. I wish I had begun sooner. It feels so good!

I know FS didn't sell out but you can't go by the floor seats at a casino. Many of those are saved for high rollers that never show up. Which is why Adam called his fans down to the front that night! The Warfield had 2 big acts and didn't sell out. I live in S. Ca and never considered going becuase it was so close to Christmas. Didn't want to spend the money or take that time. Of course, I did end up paying $300 for a DIVAs ticket! Not sure about my reasoning there! ;D

As far as Adam's birthday, he kinda gulped at saying 31, so I'm not sure he is going to organize anything. I'm with Momtomany..give as you are drawn with a notation to wish Adam a Happy Birthday! Donors Choose and charity:water were both excellent choices in the past.

I was nowhere near the front, which I did see were filled. I just found it really odd to see big blocks of empty seats on the floor. :( I guess I was there the first time and it looked much more filled everywhere. ETA: I'm still kicking myself that I didn't go to Divas. I was around and could have flown down. :( $300 just doesn't seem that bad after paying for that London Queenbert trip. I would have rather gone to Divas than the SF show, which just seemed really, really short.
