butterknife, so happy for you!!!! My main advice is to try on the day of the concert to control your excitement as best you can. I nearly made myself sick before GNT, I was so excited, and my poor sister had an ocular migraine after seeing Adam at the Houston radio station and got a floater in her eye that had to be repaired with a laser. Scary how the body reacts even to good stress!!!! Before Winstar, we made sure to be calm, we had a great dinner with theosgma and lindag, we went back to the hotel room to dress, we breathed, etc. I know it sounds silly but we had a fantastic time once the show started and it helped so much focusing on being calm before it started. You are lucky!!! Wish I was going with you! :D oh, my god.. I am so sorry for your sister :-[...
Thank you so much juinemoon for your advice. I don't know if I will successfully calm myself down. But maybe running a half marathon before the concert will have to help
I still can't believe this is happening. And it will be in an old but good opera house! So I'm expecting very good acoustic.
Also Big thanks to soaked, betty, and Catzmadam

From his blog... *___*
Our modus operandi is: we try and give the most with whatever resources are available to us. As I was counting my blessings I recognized our greatest resources are our people. They give when they don't have to which never ceases to amaze me. Some of this year's amazing people are our Unity Award Honoree Adam Lambert, who came to international prominence on the highly rated TV show American Idol. My band CHIC and I will perform that and other songs with him, along with Taylor Dayne, Kathy Sledge (the voice of "We Are Family"), Grandmaster Melle Mel, Anita Baker, and uber comedian, MC, and turntablelist Russell Peters, guaranteeing yet another incredible show after eleven years.

Thanks to an earlier post from 4Ms, I have spent the last several hours reading Slezak's comments on Adam on season 8, and watching videos of his reviews. I was struck by the fact that Slezak and several of the other commentators just didn't "get" Adam for much of the competition. They did not fall head over heels for him like we did. We talked a few days ago about Adam making people feel "uncomfortable." That seemed to be the case with Slezak and the others. They thought he was too dramatic, too OTT, mugging to the camera too much, flaunting his sexuality too much, belting too much, showing off his voice too much, not being genuine enough... etc. They thought he was being pimped by the producers and given the best staging, lighting, etc. Over the course of the season, they seemed to come around a little. They recognized how impeccable his vocals were, they commented on how moving Mad World was, they talked about him changing things up so that he was always interesting, and toward the end, even noted that despite the flamboyant, showy performances, he seemed like a very likable, nice, down to earth guy. They also recognized that, because Adam was hands down the best singer and performer, they started to expect increasingly amazing things from him each week and fault him for tiny things when his performances were still by far the best. When we fans puzzle over why Adam has not become a top tier performer with multiple number 1 hit singles, I think the reaction of Slezak and others on Idolatry points to an answer. What we have always seen as fabulous, others have difficulty accepting or believing. In many areas of life (with the exception of professional athletes, perhaps) Americans seem to be uncomfortable with people who not only don't fit into boxes, but who stand out and excel at what they are doing. There is a script that says one shouldn't "show up" everyone else. Remember in high school when the smart kids were criticized for ruining the grading curve? Especially in women's culture, standing out as exceptional is thought to be showing off and putting yourself above everyone else in a haughty, egotistical way. I see from reviewing these articles and videos that recognizing the brilliance and fabulousness of Adam takes a certain personality, rebelliousness, and perhaps a little of Adam's own OTT quirkiness. Because of that, Adam may never be "mainstream" enough for the masses. But, that's why we love him, and why we have found a community of like-minded, quirky spirits here at ATop. I love y'all for it. I heart this post. And I am happy for us who get Adam. He is just so exceptional.

For some reason, I can see my avi on my desktop but not on my iPad. I can see everyone else's avi on my iPad...just not my own. Any ideas why that may be?? I can't see your avi either, mszue! But I can see all the other avi's on my PC!

Yes, because it is a quiet time and before a 3 day weekend. And y'all helped with the Facebook likes. Otherwise it would have changed on Jan 25, 2013. Sorry for any inconvenience but I will have the modifications done over the weekend. I will post some instructions for the changes tomorrow. In the meantime, I am back to restoring Adamtopia stuff. You're a great administrator. BTW, why 3 day weekend? Is Monday a special day in the US?
