For me, the benefit of both benefit events (the previous one with Cyndi L. and the upcoming one with Nile Rogers) is that his network is expanding and participation in such events gives him a different artistic profile. It allows for conversations with people who are his equal rather than with some silly radio DJs who doesn't even get what Adam stands for. True artists recognize the talent and personality in others, allow the individuality to come out, rather than be streamlined into the current radio flavor of the month. And this is where Adam belongs, this is what his music has always been about. And I am glad he is more and more respected in such artist circles and invited to such events. He is one of the great performers and singers of our time and he deserves to be on stage with other great musicians of our time. It will open doors and opportunities down the road and this is why I love this for him. And my secret wish: I'm crossing my fingers that David Bowie will attend that Chic fundraiser event. A gal can dream, can't she?   It must happen....they MUST meet someday! |

But Kelly sang live!  The only thing about Beyonce lipsynching that upsets me is her dramatics with the ear monitors and all. If she's going to lip synch, don't pretend she is not. Plus, there are plenty of people who can do it well, live! Kelly being one of those! I was thinking that she did better than Kelly all this time! :-/ I have no problem with Beyonce's performance - I loved it. It was beautiful no matter what. Whitney Houston's most wonderful SSB was lipsynched. If Beyonce wanted it to look live, fine with me. I don't call it pretending - I call it performing. And I imagine there are times when Kelly lipsynches as well. I believe all performers do at one time or another. I was blown away and became a fan of Beyonce's when she sang "At Last" at President Obama's first inauguaration(sp) when he and Michele had their first dance at their ball. So now whatever she does is a-ok with me. 8-) I'd have to go more with the word pretending. And I do not believe Kelly has ever lip synched. Super Bowl, last year? LIVE |

Loved Beyonce and Kelly C at the inauguration, but just heard on the radio that Beyonce lip-synced the performance. Must be hard to sing outside in a venue like that. But Kelly sang live! The only thing about Beyonce lipsynching that upsets "bugs" me is her dramatics with the ear monitors and all. If she's going to lip synch, don't pretend she is not. Plus, there are plenty of people who can do it well, live! Kelly being one of those! I was thinking that she did better than Kelly all this time! :-/ Seriously, the ear monitor thing now appears to be ridiculous dramatics -- maybe she was singing along for those nearby?. Still like the rendition though..... |

If this is true, I don't blame the organizer to choose to pre-record her singing. President's inauguration's very important event, they didn't want to take a chance with any technical problem. We've known that some music director prefers to have pre-recorded for the NA performance for the Super Bowl and nothing different with this special event. |
