About American Idol... I was seriously addicted, for a while. I had this film which I downloaded, with all Adam's performances and judges' comments and mentors and his visit to San Diego. When I say addicted, I mean I had to watch it every day or else I would experience serious withdrawal symptoms. At the time, I was a closeted Glambert and often I had to come up with various wicked plans to get my daily dosage. It gets worse : that summer, the one before last, we finally got to travel outside the country. After 10 years of not being allowed to leave it, we managed to save enough and went to the lovely Greek seaside, kids and all. And all the time, instead of enjoying the experience, I worried how the hell I was going to watch Adam. Just crazy! So, every evening, I would go to a local Internet Cafe, under various excuses, packed with kids and teenagers playing Wolfenstain or shooting zombies. I would carefully choose a desk where no one could see my screen - not always possible, let me tell you:))) I was the only adult there! I would watch his AI performances for a while; not nearly enough, but I was careful not to cause any suspicion, so I would leave after a 'reasonable' amount of time. I felt like Mata Hari, I swear:))) Those were the days! My first baby Glambert steps:) I love all his AI performances, though. Perfect jumping board for his career Also, I really don't get the contemptuous 'oh he is from a reality tv show' attitude from some - bunch of hypocrites, I think.

Watched all the AI Adam performances last week, and what a wonderful body of work to preserve for posterity. Today, I slipped the GNT DVD into my player and was blown away all over again with what an incredible performance that is. It is truly a compelling theater piece. And the vocals are AMAZING. Isn't it wonderful how Adam can blow our minds all over again when we view his work? I watched the 2:16 min video of Adam's journey yesterday (inspired my the talk on the boards) www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlq_qJxCxi4 and I have one question: what did Adam sing on the first day of Hollywood week that garnered the "mixed reviews" from the judges? I'm not sure, but I heard it was What's Up. The one he sang at Upright Cabaret. But I'm not sure. I guess it was never shown... ETA: Oooooh, it was What's Up!!!!

I love your story, Aleks! Truth be told, sounds like perfectly reasonable behaviour to me.

They just said it was February 10. They'll play 10 tracks - that's nearly the whole album.
