So I guess the Queenbert concerts really helped Adam make it through last year :D. Hard to know how this can be figured out so fast when the Hennesy, Bali stuff was so recent 8-|! Hmmmm....Suppose those figure Lyndsey posted are before taxes.... and after expenses???I found on twitter this information, which left me kind of confused: KMS @kms15423 @14gelly The time period was May 2011 - May 2012. Doesn't include Trsp sales either @Lolly_zzz @PattiHum
ETA: KMS @kms15423 @Ala4afam @Lolly_zzz @PattiHum @14gelly That time period didn't include SA either.

Does not include Queenbert either so he could be around the 2 million mark for 2012-2013

The time period is BEFORE the gigs, before Queenbert, and all the rest. So, it covered most of the TP writing time over the summer of 2011. Here is the Forbes article: linkForbes
MethodologyOur numbers are based on estimated income earned from May 2011 to May 2012, before subtracting taxes, American Idol’s cut and any remaining fees for agents, lawyers and managers. The totals were compiled with the help of data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as interviews with industry insiders including managers, publicists, agents and some of the musicians themselves. www.forbes.com/sites/zackomalleygreenburg/2013/01/30/top-earning-american-idols-2012/For a handful of artists, a higher position on next year’s list is all but guaranteed. Adam Lambert toured his way to $6 million in earnings in 2011 and this year falls to No. 7 with $1.5 million after taking time off to record Trespassing. The new album was released after the end of our scoring period, but debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts with 78,000 copies sold its first week.

What was Adam doing May 2011 - May 2012 beside being in the studio writing and recording? How the hell did he earn 1.5 mill lol?

I can't sleep, someone give me something to get started down the rabbit hole!! I think I can help you here: Nile Roger's Songwriters Class is incredibly interesting to listen to, especially for a instrument playing music lover, like yourself. It is almost two hours long, so settle down for an intense listening session, but this is so worth it. You can skip the first ca. 8 minutes where the various university faculty is just peacocking and doing their typical laudatory introductions of each other, but then, when it really starts, you won't be able to stop watching, it gets better and better. To be honest, I was prior to this session a bit unclear on something about Nile. I mean I understood his incredible background story (childhood, black panther, illnesses, etc) and obviously the incredible list of mega hits that Nile had produced/written and the fact that many of these mega start artists (Madonna, Bowie, Diana Ross, etc. ) had their biggest career hits exactly with him, and that meant that there was something brilliant going on with Nile as a songwriter and producer, but I had sometimes difficulty understanding how all this had happened. While Nile is clearly a great guy and the fact that he is now so supportive of Adam endears me to him even more, but the previous interviews I had heard were not all that enlightening for me and had left me with more questions than answers. This one is different and it gets better by the minute. So, I hope you and many others can listen with as much interest as I have done, here it is: nilerodgers.com/blogs/planet-c-in-english/2250

(sorry, mys*&@^#r): another statement from the FORBES article that grabbed my attention is this: "Now six years removed from her Idol victory, Sparks doesn’t have to worry about handing a chunk of her earnings back to the show that launched her. More recent winners must turn over somewhere in the neighborhood of half of their income to Idol—before paying any remaining agents, managers and attorneys, not to mention Uncle Sam.For McCreery, that probably means pocketing only about one-fifth of his $4 million payday."
So, am I correct in my assumption that "parting ways" with 19R actually means that Adam ALSO doesn’t have to worry about handing a chunk of his earnings back to AI?
