If you don't know about this family, you should look it up. Utterly amazing woman. I pulled her late son's book of poems off my shelf to share. It's really not about the poems, but his amazing spirit, though. Eternal Echoes by Mattie Stepanek, age 10 Our life is an echo Of our spirit today, Of our essence As it is, Caught between Our yesterday And our tomorrow. It is the resounding Reality of who we are, As a result of Where we have been, And where we will be, For eternity.

... except that some people really are using this to diss the band in a very nasty and hateful way. The band haters are having a field day, that's for sure. B-| Anyway, Cassie, what did you think of the vocals? I thought he sounded incredible. Meh. The vocals were okay.........NOT! He sounds fantastic! You would think it would get to seem commonplace, since when do the vocals NOT sound great? But, he can still amaze me. Some great high notes that are his signature and bring out the screams and head shakes from everyone. But, it is his TONE that takes my breath away. I know that Sam's mic was not working at the beginning of Let's Dance. But, even after, I was struck by the difference in the voices. I have noticed with Sam and with the Queenbert concerts a huge difference in the tone of Adam's voice and others. At first in Kiev with that Victor guy I thought his mic was set wrong. Then, I noticed it with Roger and Brian when they sang in each concert. And Sam in this one. At first I thought, "The sound guy must have the mics all set to 'Adam standard' so that they don't pick up the other voices well." But since I have heard the phenomenon repeated so many times, and since it wouldn't make sense not to adjust the mics for each individual singer, I have come to the conclusion that the resonance, richness, and ring in Adam's voice makes it stand out like no others. It is there whenever he sings, but I notice it all the more in contrast to the other singers on the same stage, with the same equipment and the same sound engineer. Even four years later, it boggles my mind. No matter what style he sings, what tempo, what range, that resonance and presence and beauty is there. It underlies every genre he sings. It seems effortless (tho' in reality it takes a LOT of technique). It sets him apart from other singers for me. As does his remarkable control. His voice is so consistent from note to note, phrase to phrase, fast or slow, at the top, in the middle and at the lower end of his range. With many singers we can tell it is live because of the less than perfect sound, the inconsistencies in strength or tone, the occasional bobbles or missed notes, the muddiness of some lyrics and phrases. This is where Adam's technique really serves him well. And where people think he must be lip syncing, because it sounds "too perfect." The consistent excellence of Adam's delivery sets a standard that, IMO, no other pop singer today can reach. So, yeah, I enjoyed his singing. (do we have a smiley for humorous understatement?) I think that Adam's voice has a resonance that makes it sit out above others. There are a lot of nice voices and some great ones. When I compare the difference the good voices have a somewhat flat one dimensional quality, the tone might be pretty but feels washed out. Adam sings in 3D. No idea how he does it but love the results.

That is the best description of Adam's voice I have ever read. Perfect!
