Regarding the band with Adam last night. We expected them to sound AMAZING, right? Isn't that one of the reasons we were so excited for Adam to sing with them? To sing with world class musicians? Nile has also been writing, producing, and arranging songs for decades, for the best in the business. I expected the arrangements of the songs to be fantastic. What's wrong with people going crazy for how incredible they sounded? It's not a diss towards Adam's band members. It is just reality.
If I go to hear the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, I expect to have an enjoyable evening of wonderful music. But, if I go to see the London or New York Philharmonic under a world class conductor, I expect an extraordinary musical experience. They are the best in the world. In a different league. I suppose that there are many people who are not afficionados of orchestral music who might not be able to hear much of a difference between the orchestras. It's not like the Atlanta orchestra is BAD, playing out of tune, flubbing the notes, playing off tempo. They are professionals. They are good. So, what's the big deal about those other orchestras? I understand that some people don't "get" that there is any difference. To MY ears and musical background, the difference is obvious.
Perhaps, it is the same as when people compare other singers to Adam and say they are just as good. Huh? In what universe? They both may sing loud and high, but that is where the similarity ends for me. The quality of Adam's voice is so much richer, more refined, more glowing, more controlled and accurate, more satisfying, etc. etc.
Will Adam one day have a band of musicians the caliber of what we heard last night? I hope so. The best voice of today deserves to be heard with the best musicians. But, for now, the band Adam has assembled sounds good, they support him well, and they form a community that Adam feels comfortable with. It's all good.
